Just sharing an email I sent out to my address book this morning...
I found out on Friday that the papers were signed on Wednesday. So, I'm divorced.
I have to thank everyone who was there for me. There are so many - all of you have done something for me, but there are a few that deserve to be named and praised above all.

(close friends)- There is no way I would have ever found the fortitude to leave without your love, friendship, support and assurance. Hey, there's LIGHT out here! ;)
(family)- Thank you for providing EVERYTHING I needed when I needed it most. You gave me a place to stay, made calls, went to appointments, picked up kids, loaned me cars, took notes, and basically organized everything when my mind was not functioning so well.
(church members)- Thank you for reminding me that God is with me. There have been times it was hard to remember. But "all that is good in this world is on my side" and the truth persevered. Thanks for keeping me in your prayers.
(counselor)- Thank you for listening, and for your guidance and words of encouragement. It never hurts to know that a professional thinks I'm doing a great job. :)
(rebound)- Thank you for being a friend first and foremost when my world was crashing all around. Thanks for proving that I was not "incapable of loving or being loved" and helping me learn to relax, find myself, and control my anger by example.
(lawyer)- Thank you for being so confident that some of it rubbed off on me. Thanks for putting up with my "Now what?!" faxes and emails, and for lugging around my stacks and folders and bundles of (sometimes) reverse-chronologically ordered sorted stapled debris.
(boyfriend)- "With you, I have become fearless, uninhibited and bold." Sometimes when you chase dreams, you catch one. Thank you for watching The Princess Bride with me. Both times. :)
(old friends)- Thank you for proving that old friends are always there, no matter the distance or time since you last needed them.

With the tragedy that has affected us all this past week, it seems insignificant now. Although I've waited for this simple signed document for so long (nine long/short months) - it is not the "relief" I thought it would be.
One chapter in the book of my life is over. A year ago this month, some of you know that I hit rock bottom. I couldn't understand why it had to get so bad before it started getting better, until now. "You have to stop falling to be able to start climbing." It may have been an uphill battle, but the view from where I am now is awesome. :D
T-L-C
---------------------------------------------------
I pledge allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the republic for which it stands
one nation ... under God ... indivisible
with liberty and justice for all
