Hey I was just wondering, in Colorado a couple only has to live here for 90 days before considered a resident and therefore allowed to get a no-fault divorce. Well like many here I am getting laid off. Not a bad thing let me tell ya but it does push up my schedule for moving back to Texas. Is anyone familiar what happens once on person in the relationship lives in another state? Does that complicate issues, maybe slow things down? Man it would be nice to have a lawyer who was getting a divorce and belonged to this site. Oh and by the way for those familiar with my story last night I finally heard from W.S. She's been spending time with her family and now has gone from hellbent on getting a divorce to the "possibility" of a divorce.

If a person files in one state and the other party is in a different state you can;
1 - Keep everything as it stands. Hopefully get a lawyer where you are who is licensed in the state where the divorce is filed. Else you can get a lawyer in the state & do everything by phone/mail.
2 - File a motion to have the court decide jursidiction. I believe it will “generally” be wherever the home was or where the children are.
