Here is a list of some of the books I've read during this process. Every single one talks about how to strengthen yourself and treat yourself better. They've helped me - they might help you - even if you're not divorcing.
The Smart Divorce, A practical guide to the 200 things you must know, by Susan T. Goldstein and Valerie H. Colb, Divorce Attorneys
Our Turn, The Good News About Women and Divorce, (This is the one that showed the results of a survey done on Divorce After 40) by Christopher L. Hayes, Phd., Deborah Anderson and Melinda Blau
Divorcing, A complete Guide for Men and Women, by Melvin Belli, Attorney and Mel Krantzler, Phd, Leading Divorce Psychologist and author of Creative Divorce, with Christopher S. Taylor
Divorce Mediation, How to cut the cost & stress of divorce, by Diane Neumann
Women on Divorce, A bedside companion, edited by Penny Kaganoff and Susan Spano (A compilation of stories written mostly about their own divorces by female writers)
The Idiots Guide to Surviving a Divorce
Sudden Endings, Wife Rejection Syndrome
All of these have helped. If I only wanted one part, I'd scan the rest. There are more there - in fact, I hope to get back there today and turn all of these in for a new pile.
