I don't post my developments often anymore, but this time I couldn't resist. Right before my wife and I separated in June, I was the source of all that was evil and bad.
Today, she called just because, and ended the conversation with a quiet and unprompted "I love you."
I don't analyze or assume ANYTHING, but
Dan

Great to hear Family Man!!!
I went back and dug through your posts. You have a WS W and are seperated is the last thing I can find. The house was sold and she bought her own.
Did you get divorced after all?
My WS XW seems to be behaving in a much more reasonable manner lately, but I wonder if she's just scheming. I ignore her completely, but I'm nice and just focus on our daughter. She looks at me differently now (almost like she's missing something) and seems to be interested in what I'm doing and whom I'm with. Either that or she can't figure out why she can't get a rise out of me anymore. I hope the fog is lifting. I have a lot of anxiety in my life lately (layoffs, economy, war, disease, etc., etc., etc.) and this situation is really getting old. Come on OM, it's time to let your true colors run.
Kevin

Kevin,
I don't wanna kidnap family man's thread too much, but wanted to tell you I'm glad you are not analyzing too much the kindness your wife is showing, I'm glad you are just enjoying it. There's probably no schemes or hidden motives, she is just probably trying to change too.
Also, I know what you mean by not letting them push those buttons anymore. I think mine was almost addicted to the arguing. It was almost as if he went into withdrawal when I stopped defending myself. I wouldn't have been one bit surprised if he would have said something like, "I will not allow you to not argue with me!!!" Every now and then he would stop mid sentence and I thought for sure that was what he was going to say.
You know I think from what you are saying she may be interested in you again! Cool!
Take care,
ANNA
[ October 24, 2001: Message edited by: Anna2000 ]

Thank you all! father of 1, husband of 0 - we have not divorced; have not really discussed it. I have found that when we focus on ourselves w some effectiveness we remove some of WS "power " over us. I think they may find that troubling(?)!
I don't really try to figure why she does whatever. I can't really know. I just try to "listen to my gut " and move on.
I pray we all get what we are struggling for.
Dan
