Well...
Child Protective Services finally got involved and met with my older D on Wed, I talked to them that afternoon and then met with them on Friday. they are writing a report to substantiate abuse by STBX. After being in a deposition for 4 1/2 hours on why I wanted a restraining order and hearing from STBX's attorney that since CPS wasn't called there was no abuse, it was refreshing to finally be able to talk with them.
Kids meet with counselor and their father tomorrow, first time they have had contact other than seeing him breifly in August at mediation. It is scary; in the phone calls he was allowed to do with them he has tried intimidation and bribery, demanded that he be given a school picture when he sees them tomorrow, etc. He has started going across the street again, Sunday was there for 7 plus hours, drove up and parked, got out, smiled and flipped me off, later that afternoon he stood in the street as I drove by, just smirking and waving.
I am doing the support groups that the Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Abuse give and it has been good, also the private counseling has helped a lot in teaching me and, through my help, the girls to move away from the abusive lifestyle we'd been in for so long. I have found out that STBX (and yes, some of you can say, DUH! :eek has a mental disorder called Narcissitic Personality Disorder and that opened up a whole new way of looking at things and trying to work on ourselves.
I feel pretty good, not looking forward to more drilling on the stand in the courtroom on Thursday, but I'm doing OK. I see my attorney in the morning to prep for Thurs, then off with kids to counselor so they can see STBX. To tell you the truth, I am actually feeling better about it than I had expected.
Time to go relax with what is left of the night, thanks for being here!
Lori
