My husband caught me a few months ago. We have tried to work things out, counseling, talking, etc. I know that I have done him wrong, but am sure that I don't want our marriage to end. He is sure that he does although he says he still loves me. I have admitted to everything. Because of the counseling I've been in, I understand why I strayed and how to avoid ever doing it again in the future. But, because of my infidelity, my husband says he cannot ever trust me again and that getting divorced is the only thing he can think of doing at this time. He does say that it is possible that we will get back together again after it is all said and done. I am devasted and don't know how to let it end.

Welcome to MB! I'm glad you found this web site. You should start by reading all of the articles, Q and A and Basic Principles that are on this site. You may also want to buy a copy of Surviving and Affair. It is possible to recover, you just have to apply the principles of things such as Radical Honesty etc. After you read the info. maybe you can get your husband to read it also. Also read the site on finding a good marriage counselor and suggest that you both go. It may take a little while for your husband to get over the shock. But by coming here you have all the right tools to make your marriage work. Post any quesitons you have on GQII - you'll get lots of advice there. Good Luck! K

We have been to counseling, read the books, etc. I have made every attempt to let H know that I will never go back to that type of life. I have learned a lot with the help of the therapist and know that I will continue to grow because of his help. He is angry and wants to divorce. I'm just having a really hard time getting to accept the fact that it is really over. I guess time will be the answer but it doesn't help when I know that I don't want it to be over.
