I just bought Garth Brooks' new CD (Scarecrow) and it is awesome. I just had to share the lyrics from two of the songs on it that really touched me and will probably hit home with most of us on here.<p>THE STORM (written by Kent Blazy, Kim Williams and Garth Brooks)<p>She sits among the pieces of broken glass and photographs
Reluctantly releases the last of what was her past
It struck without a warning or did she just ignore the signs
In those dark clouds forming behind her silver lines<p>The door it slammed like thunder and the tears they fell like rain
And the warnings from her family whirl like a hurricane
She&#8217;s drowning in emotions and she cannot reach the shore
She&#8217;s alive but can she survive the storm<p>A broken jewel box dancer lies in pieces down the hall
She&#8217;s finding out the answers don&#8217;t change nothing at all
It&#8217;s time that she stopped searching for who&#8217;s to blame or what went wrong
The only thing for certain is he&#8217;s gone, she&#8217;s got to move on<p>The door it slammed like thunder and the tears they fell like rain
And the warnings from her family whirl like a hurricane
She&#8217;s drowning in emotions and she cannot reach the shore
She&#8217;s alive but can she survive the storm<p>Some days just roll on by without a gray cloud in the sky
She keeps telling herself, &#8220;I will make it on my own&#8221;
And her friends they&#8217;ve all gone back to their lives
Thinking she will be alright
As she races through the night to make it home<p>The door it slammed like thunder and the tears they fell like rain
And the warnings from her family whirl like a hurricane
She&#8217;s drowning in emotions and she cannot reach the shore
She&#8217;s alive but can she survive the storm<p>WHEN YOU COME BACK TO ME AGAIN (written by Jenny Yates and Garth Brooks)<p>There&#8217;s a ship out on the ocean at the mercy of the sea
It&#8217;s been tossed about lost and broken wandering aimlessly
And God, somehow You know that ship is me<p>Because there&#8217;s a lighthouse in a harbor shining faithfully
Pouring its light out across the water for this sinking soul to see
That someone out there still believes in me<p>On a prayer, In a song
I hear your voice and it keeps me hanging on
Raining down against the wind
I&#8217;m reaching out until we reach the circles end
When you come back to me<p>There&#8217;s a moment that we all come to
In our own time and our own space
Where all that we&#8217;ve done we can undo
If our heart&#8217;s in the right place<p>On a prayer, In a song
I hear your voice and it keeps me hanging on
Raining down against the wind
I&#8217;m reaching out until we reach the circles end
When you come back to me<p>Again and again I see
My yesterdays in front of me
Unfolding like a mystery
You&#8217;re changing all that is and used to be<p>On a prayer, In a song
I hear your voice and it keeps me hanging on
Raining down against the wind
I&#8217;m reaching out until we reach the circles end
When you come back to me

this is an incredibly uplifting and inspirational piece of music . . both lyrically and musically . . . the way Bono delivers these lyrics is absolutely mind blowing . . amazing stuff. . . anybody who has longed for a lover back so that he/she can light your way can totally relate to this amazing song! <p>
Ultraviolet (Light My Way)" . . . by U2<p>Sometimes I feel like I don't know
Sometimes I feel like checkin' out
I want to get it wrong
Can't always be strong
And love it won't be long <p>Oh sugar, don't you cry
Oh child, wipe the tears from your eyes
You know I need you to be strong
And the day is as dark as the night is long
Feel like trash, you make me feel clean
I'm in the black, can't see or be seen <p>Baby, baby, baby light my way
Baby, baby, baby light my way <p>You bury your treasure
Where it can't be found
But your love is like a secret
That's been passed around
There is a silence that comes to a house
Where no one can sleep
I guess it's the price of love
I know it's not cheap <p>Baby, baby, baby light my way
(oh, come on)
Baby, baby, baby light my way <p>Oh ultraviolet
Ultraviolet
Ultraviolet
Ultraviolet <p>Baby, baby, baby light my way <p>I remember
When we could sleep on stones
Now we lie together
In whispers and moans
When I was all messed up
And I had opera in my head
Your love was a light bulb
Hanging over my bed <p>Baby, baby, baby light my way
(oh, come on)
Baby, baby, baby light my way <p>Ultraviolet <p>Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby light my way <p>Baby, baby, baby light my way

On my way back "home" to Chicago last weekend (I've decided to move back), I popped in one of my old cd's. Boys II Men. "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye to Yesterday". I couldn't help listening to it over and over.<p>Wish I could put the lyrics all down, but somehow you just have to hear these guys singing them. Wow. I love those guys.<p>[ November 14, 2001: Message edited by: weirded out ]</p>

Here's a couple of songs that seem to hit home these days<p>
Barley Breathing.. Duncan Sheik
http://www.cdnow.com/cgi-bin/mserve...C=7567828792/disc=01/track=03/source=wmf
<p>I know what you're doing. I see it all too clear I only taste the Saline when I kiss away your tears. You really had me going, wishing on a star. But the black holes that surround you, are heavier by far. I believed in your confusion, you were so completely torn. You really can't be serious, I'll have to ask you why?<p>I say good bye..<p>Chorus:
Cause I am barley breathing, and I can't find the air
Don't know who I'm kidding, imagining you care. But I could stand here waiting a fool for another day. I don't suppose it's worth the price, worth the price, the price that I would pay, but I'm thinking it over anyway.<p>Everyone keeps asking "What's it all about?" I used to be so certain, but now I can't figure out. What is their attraction? I only feel the pain. Nothing left to reason, and only you to blame. Will it ever change?<p>Chrous.<p>but I'm thinking it over anyway<p>come to find. may never know. Your changing mind. Friend or Foe?
I rise above or sink below, with every time, you come and go.
please don't come and go..<p>Chorus.<p>But I'm thinking it over anyway.<p>I know what your doing..
I see it all too clear..<p>
************************* and ******************************<p>REO Speedwagon Time For Me to Fly
From album Hi-Infedilty (hence my user name here)<p>
http://www.cdnow.com/cgi-bin/mserve...C=9699853632/disc=01/track=03/source=wmf<p>
I've been around for you
I've been up and down for you
But I just can't get any relief
I've swallowed my pride for you
I've lived and lied for you
But you still make me feel like a thief
You got me stealin' your love away
'Cause you never give it
Peeling the years away
And we can't relive it
I make you laugh
And you make me cry
I believe it's time for me to fly
You said we'd work it out
You said that you had no doubt
That deep down we were really in love
Oh, but I'm tired of holding on
To a feeling I know is gone
I do believe that I've had enough
I've had enough of the falseness
Of a worn out relation
Enough of the jealousy
And the intoleration
I make you laugh
And you make me cry
I believe it's time for me to fly
{Refrain} Time for me to fly
Oh, I've got to set myself free
Time for me to fly
And that's just how it's got to be
I know it hurts to say goodbye
But it's time for me to fly
Oh, don't you know it's...
{Refrain}
It's time for me to fly
{Repeat to end}

Driving Sideways - by Aimee Mann<p>At least you know you were taken by a pro
I know just how you feel
She talked a perfect game, deflecting all the blame
you took the jack and changed the flat
and got behind the wheel--
now you're driving sideways, taken in by the scenery
as you're propelled along
And your companion will not help you to navigate
for fear she may be wrong<p>And you will say that you're making headway
and put it in overdrive
but you're mistaking speed for getting what you need
and never even noticing you never do arrive
cause you're driving sideways, if you roll down the window you'll see
you're where you don't belong
And your companion will not help you to navigate
for fear she may be wrong<p>And you're powered by the hopeful lie
that it's just around the bend
and when this, by default
comes screeching to a halt
let's hope that you know what to do
to start it up again<p>driving sideways, hitting scan on the radio
so she can sing along
and she'll sit thinking you're going to handle it
until she's proven wrong
until she's proven wrong
until you prove her wrong

HERE IS ANOTHER ONE FOR YOU . . . THIS MAY BE THE SINGLE MOST INCREDIBLE SONG IVE EVER HEARD CONCERNING LOVE, THE ENDING OF A RELATIONSHIP, ETC. - simply put, if this one doesnt touch you, you are not a human being - i personally measure the depth of individuals based on what they think of this song . . .if you are going through a divorce or break up you ABSOLUTELY OWE it to yourself to go out and get this song and give it to your significant other . . .ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and AWESOME talent here<p>"SHINE" by David Grey<p>I can see it in your eyes, what I know in my heart is true
that our love it has faded, like the summer run through
so we'll walk down the shoreline, one last time together
feel the wind blow our wanderin' hearts, like a feather
but who knows what's waiting, in the wings of time
dry your eyes, we gotta go where we can shine<p>Don't be hiding in sorrow, or clinging to the past
with your beauty so precious, and the season so fast
no matter how cold the horizons appear
or how far the first night , when I held you near
you gotta rise from these ashes, like a bird of flame
step out of the shadow
we've gotta go where we can shine<p>For all that we struggle, for all we pretend
it don't come down to nothing, except love in the end
and ours is a road, that is strewn with goodbyes
but as it unfolds, as it all unwinds
remember your soul is the one thing
you can't compromise
take my hand<p>we're gonna go where we can shine
we're gonna go where we can shine
we're gonna go where we can shine
