What bothers me a lot now is that me and my kids are losing touch with my ex husbands family ... little by little. My sister in law and I used to be so very close, me and her kids and my kids were always together ... now, she does things with her family, and me with mine. It is so hard to lose touch with those you loved so much after a divorce. Now, my childrens grandmother also calls less and less ... just like Dad does ... and its very painful to see the end of all of that coming. I still send them all pictures, talk to them IF I see them, and its like a divorce from that whole side of the family too - it hurts.

Cndy:
Make the effort. Go there. Take a trip for a weekend. Keep sending pictures. Send video tapes of the kids. Have them draw pictures and send them. Have the kids call them and talk on the phone. Make plans to spend some holiday time with them. If you want to communication not to stop, I guess you have to make the effort and keep on communicating.

CNDY,
How ya doin? Katya is right! You just keep making the attempts at staying connected. What is happening is pretty natural. You don't mention that they are ignoring ro shuning you. Remember that the connection you once shared (your ex husband, their brother or son) is nolonger there. Yes the kids are but they were not the reason for your connecting in the first place. You can not make them do something they do not want to do. It is too bad but the burden is on you if you want to maintain contact. Wishing you the best.
