Mamogram last week, had to redo it today, Wed will have Ultrasound, called H he could care less, Biopsy in May 2001 was benign, its in a different area now, why are they wanting a ultrasound? they didnt do this in May, my aunt had B-cancer in May 2001 & had one breast removed, it runs in our family. Got into argument about H picking up RX bills, all H talked about was losing money on me, he has to keep insurance til D, H just got another job & will have to change insurance the 1st. does anyone know if BlueCross will pick up coverage for any medical expenses from an existing illness on a new employee family member? I really got mad, H has changed his reason for leaving home from arguments all the time, to now I kicked him out of his home & he didnt want to go & Im taking everthing H has worked for, H still sees OW & wants to be with her when both our D are finial. Why cant they tell the truth. M-17yrs D-D- 4/28/2001 D-pending C-S-12yrs,S-28yrs,GD-6yrs old OW-D-pending

Hi,
First, I'd like to share a website with you:
WIN ABC
It stands for Women's Information Network Against Breast Cancer... please visit there, and use the message board. There's also phone numbers for information and a "Breast Buddy" program that is amazing, which will pair you with someone to go through this with you. Great support!!
Let me tell you, my mother had breast cancer and she is ALIVE AND WELL, six years later. My best high school friend was diagnosed with breast cancer in her early 30's, and was given a 50/50 chance... she's 42!!! And, in fact, she's the woman who began WIN ABC.
I hear your fears, and having the added bonus of a H who doesn't understand makes this horribly difficult... sigh... but... this is not a death sentence!!
Please do all you can to protect and heal yourself... beginning with a visit to the site I mentioned...
God Bless, and I'm sending some healing thoughts and prayers your way!

I was under the understanding that unless your insurance has lapsed for 60 days or more, new insurance has to cover your preexisting conditions. I am not sure tho. Just make sure he doesn't pull a fast one when the insurance changes by leaving you off the new policy. Mine did that to me and boy was it a headache to get me reinstated. I had no knowledge he left me off and my doctor I was seeing wasn't part of the new insurance plan, so I ended up with some pretty hefty bills.
Take care and I hope for the best outcome for you.

The ultrasound is just so they can double check it and see for sure if it's just a cyst or some other benign problem. Try not to worry about it. I had one a few months ago to check what turned out to be a benign cyst after a questionable mammo, they're just being extra careful. I too use Blue Cross and they picked up the tabe for it. Good luck and try not to panic. I know it's hard but the ultrasound is necessary and will give them a better picture than the mammo.*hugs*

misst
ultra sound is just another means of checking a lump. If they have biopsied one lump - often the second they will only do the ultra sound - not a biopsy. I've had several fibrocystic lumps and they only biopsied the first series. They removed two lumps in the first series - to check the 'whole' lump.
even if it is malignant - it's NOT a life sentence. Take care of yourself - have a good outlook and think positive - you WILL get through this!!!
don't allow your husband's apathy to take you down - be true to yourself. If you don't take care of yourself - no one else will.
Blessings,
Jan
[ November 18, 2001: Message edited by: seekingjoy2 ]
