After nearly disfiguring me by doing 5 films and having to go all the way back to the muscles against my chest wall, I got to talk to the radiologist reading all those films. They had to pull the films from 5 years ago before they decided that nothing has changed in all this time.
So, there was much rejoicing in my heart over the weekend.
After that fourth film, while they were deciding what to do and to think, I was scared big time. Had a long talk with God and told Him I didn't know if I could deal with bad news.
I guess I need to tell all future mammographers I deal with to work hard and look for this little nodule. That's a scary thing because you have to nearly maim me to find it.
Anyway, mammograms aren't fun. All you men should have the experience. It would give you new appreciation for women.
I think one reason we get to endure something so uncomfortable is because the insurance people who make decisions about diagnostic tests must all be male and they may not understand. I think we should send some of those men in for mammograms or dickograms. By all means, we should have rejoicing throughout the kingdom. Because - I knew they were working on the words to give me really bad news Friday. When the mammographer said the doctor was coming, I was ready to be sick. I sat there in disbelief when she told me that everything was ok. Total shock and disbelief.
