Hey guys,
I just had to share what the last week brought to my life.
If any of you followed my story you know that my company was almost sold last year to across town competition. The snake convinced our management staff and 4 of my closest friends that we were going under and if they signed up with him, they would be set for life. Once he got them to walk out without notice on Dec 1, he backed out of the deal.
That was Dec. I lost my best friend. I was betrayed by her due to this job thing. In Jan, Husband says he's not happy and moves out in March. All year I struggle to make ends meet at work and at home wondering what God has planned for me. It doesn't seem right that I was the good guy but everyone else was profiting. My old best friend was given new job in snake's company and a huge raise. I, on the other hand, spent 10 months trying to keep a sinking ship afloat and convince our remaining staff and clients that faithfulness would be rewarded. That along with deal with divorce etc.
The moral of the story. Last week, x best friend calls to say she had been fired from dream job. They asked her to do something against her morals and she refused and lost her job over it. Other best friend from same bunch quit her job there 2 months ago.
The first of this week, I had the chance to see God work in my life. First of all, I had been praying for a non-romantic male friend. God restored a relationship for me and provided me with this friend at the perfect time for me. I needed to be reminded I was a decent and worthy person, regardless of how bad the rejection of my husband destroyed my self-esteem.
Then, later in the week, I find out my company has been sold to the world's largest player in my line of business. This is a great company and I love it. I now am Vice President of Operations for one of 5 branches of this company with over 50,000 employees. I get endless job security, get to use the skills I developed over the past 4 years and got a good raise to boot.
God is so good. My Dad's plan to sell the company wasn't flawed. God wanted our business to be perpetuated. He wanted us to succeed and He has provided much bounty for those who were faithful. God simply was not ready yet 12 months ago. He would not allow the previous sale because he had something else in mind. Something way better.
All year job security has been an issue. Now that is completely gone.
2 out of the 4 of my best friends that abandoned me are now unemployed and I sit here tonight with my faith restored in myself.
Still have major issues with Husband but I'm dealing with divorce.
Now I can see God has a definate Plan for me and I have to get out of the way. I'm pulling back from the bricks as one fine man I know says.
Just wanted to share my story of Hope to anyone out there who thinks he/she has none left.
God loves you and He is good. Pray and God will provide. Then be patient. (just don't pray for patience or you'll be given plenty of opportunity to use it)
Merry Christmas to all and a happy new year.
PP

Peoplepleaser,
Yes, God is good! Thank you for sharing your story. I need to remember that God is refining us daily and we have to be able and willing to suffer in order to be strengthened and blessed. I, too often, WANT things my way, in MY time, but that is not God's best...that only leads to my destruction.
What an encouragement... you withstood so much and was patient with whatever God was doing and HE was faithful to you. Awesome!

On a less happy note, is your h still living with ow? That must be difficult, but i know God is more powerful than that to let us suffer more than he has planned for us... My h got ow pregant in July. she is due in April...she is a royal brat, i can barely get myself up in the mornings, but i TRUST GOD, there is hope, He is providing a way for me. Thanks for your encouragement.
Julia

Thanks
Sometimes I just feel the need to share what is pouring out of my heart.
Yes, H is still living with OW. He introduced her to his parents and only sister last weekend. He still comes here and wants to be my friend, hug me occasionally, and tell me confusing things about thinking of me or missing me.
But bottom line is that he has no respect for me or my feelings. And allowing him to show me disrespect by continuing his relationship with her, I feel like I'm losing my own self-respect.
Yes, God has a plan. In my case, now, I think it is to prepare me to NOT be married. I don't know. I just think it isn't realistic to continue to believe God will work things out the way I want him to. He will work things out for the best according to His plans, not mine.
Years ago when I met my H, the circumstances led me to believe it was God's will for my life. Yes I love my husband but for 17 years I put up with things that I didn't like or didn't truly share what I needed because I kept convincing myself that my H was brought into my life from God. Maybe he was, maybe he wasnt' but I know God wants me to be happy and sometimes things have to change to find happiness.
I recently got a glimpse of what kind of happiness there is out there in the world and I tell you, I felt great. I don't have to put up with being disrespected by my H. I still pray God will change his heart because without a change of heart, I don't want him back in my life.
I have learned so much through MB, through new friends I've met here, and through months and months of self-examination.
I'm not going to say I deserve better because neither the world or my friends OWE me anything. However, I owe it to myself to find a place that makes me happy.
I'm working on it. Good luck and Merry Christmas. Thanks for listening.
PP

I recently had birthday #39, and I realized that the worst year of my life is over, and it's time to make year #40 better. It sounds to me like things are heading in the right direction for you, also. Congrats and good luck.
The mixed signals you get from your husband are familiar- my wife, I've decided, could head a cabinet-level Department of Mixed Signals. But what I keep hearing from people, and so keep telling myself, is that they don't mean a thing. One wise friend said "she's trying to drag you into her drama. Don't let her." Keep your focus on your own happiness, and good things will happen- as you now have ample evidence.
Happy Christmas!
