I have been wondering what the consensus is out there for when libido, desire starts dropping in women. It is a question both my wife and I are interested in. With the advent of Viagra, men will be able to perform if the love is there. What about women? At what age do women become disinterested or unresponsive? It must vary from woman to woman but, if you have a fairly active love life, at what age does the activity become difficult or lose its appeal. When do people generally stop?

I have read several different pieces that have very different answers to your question. I do know that viagra also has shown promise for women. There was even some TV expose's on the topic. You might try WebMD or some other health related web sites for a more definative answer.
Good luck
Todd

I have a friend who uses Viagra to help her keep up with her husband's appetite. She says it lasts about 4 hours for her.

Guess I'm not sure. I'm in my later 30's and I noticed a huge increase in my sexual appetite once I hit my early 30's. I'm finding it so wonderful that if I notice a change in myself because of age I'd be very willing to try the vigra!

I'm 44 and have had an increase in libido over the last year and a half. This also happens to coincide with our improved marriage.
Uh...think there's a connection?
I don't think age has much to do with it.
Yes, there are physical changes that take place, but there are hormone treatments and progesterone creams thatcan take care of the physical difficulties. The "drive" is all in the mind.

my wife and i are 51 years old.
she lost her desire for sex and started taking hormone replacement drugs- i can't spell the name. she started wanting sex right after that. she found a novel today at the book store that makes her wet. she's reading now and could hardly wait to read it after we got home.
we both tried a dose of viagra, at the same time, and couldn't tell any difference.
watford, i think your wife simple is not interested in making love with you. as i wrote in another post, be happy she is still there for you to love.
i suspect she will, in time, move on.

I agree with many of the earlier posts, my labido keeps growing as I get into my later thirties. My husband, 12 years my senior, is happy at once a month, where I could go every day. However, he jokes haven't stopped and are pretty embarassing when we are out with others.
I am not kinky, but would also like to have some fun with intimacy, his is just missionary and goodnight. I bought tapes and he watched them from the other couch, telling me I was weird, and these were just conventional how to tapes, with nothing that weird in them.
I don't know how much longer I can go on like this.

Another factor that may explain the increase in sexual desire in women as they age is that the kids get older and more independent too. That has been a facotr in my home
