Hi All,
I picked up the greatest book yesterday: "For Better or for Worse: Divorce Reconsidered". It reviews the results of a 30 year longitudinal study of 120 divorcing families, and it followed both partners and one child at regular intervals following the divorce.
Anyway, I'm finding it fascinating. Sort of like a window into what you might be able to expect down the road. And the thing i really like is that it neither condemns divorce categorically, nor minimizes its potential to spur personal growth. It is even handed and very helpful in helping one to understand how the choices you make now will affect your life path for years forward.
It also addresses the effects of divorce on the children in these families, and provides evidence for the kinds of parenting styles and situations that are most helpful in helping kids cope.
I think it's a must read. would love to hear what others think too...
Starpony

Starpony.....
Good to see you...always nice to see one of the "Old Timers" and read what words of information or wisdom you share. Sounds like a great book...objective as one that covers both the + and - of divorce and the impact it has on everyone involved.
Again, thanks for the tip and hope you are doing well. God bless and best to you for a healthy and happy 2002!
mr r
