All,
I haven't been to this forum in quite a while and in browsing I don't see anyone I remember. But last year at this time my marriage of 20 years (now 21) was in great danger of the proverbial crash and burn. My wife, because of things I've done and failed to do, (nothing drastic like infidelity) had built up an emotional wall that I was not having any success breaking through. We were, at her request, on the verge of separation. We have two sons and I was not happy about it at all.
I came to this forum frequently to gripe and moan and find other sympathetic ears. I read Dr. Harley's books and other books and educated myself about the things I'd been doing wrong. I went through a number of months correcting my behavior and asking nothing in return. Often it looked as if nothing I did would ever make a difference.
But I'm happy to say that now things are on a much better level. My wife has come back to me to a large degree. We are even in the process of buying a house, something she would have refused to consider this time last year.
So I'm just posting this as a thank you to all who listened to me during that very difficult time, as well as to let others know that it can turn around. Don't ever give up until you know for sure there is nothing you can do.

Hi Bruce,
There aren't a lot of the old-timers left, but I'm still regularly participating. It's good to see that your patience and execution of the "Harley" principles has paid off.
Congratulations and a Happy New Year!!!

Very well, thanks. Our marriage is much stronger than ever as well. I would have never thought that it would have survived what we've gone through, but it's a testament that Harley's methods do work well.
Today is Noah's first birthday---he's the most precious Christmas present I've ever received!

I,m really glad to hear that, K. It's good to know that out of what appears to be such a high marriage casualty list somebody makes it through the mine field. Since last year at this time my sister's marriage has collapsed, as well as a couple of friends. It's all so damned depressing. I feel very fortunate to have made it through, but I also know that I can't afford to get slack when the pressure is off.
I can say that this has really focused my energies. Keeping my family together, happily together, is high priority. I'm thankful for the chance to do it right.
