\ / TODAY'S VERSE from HEARTLIGHT -- http://www.heartlight.org/
--\/------------------------------------------------------------------
February 11, 2002
VERSE:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not
boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it
is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
-- 1 Corinthians 13:4-5
http://www.StudyLight.org/desk/?query=1+Corinthians+13:4-5
THOUGHT:
Love does not focus on myself, but on others. Each of these
qualities of love is based upon an affectionate, compassionate, and
forgiving attitude that regards others as being valuable and not
just placing value on myself and my desires. No wonder the old
saying goes "The middle of sIn is a big I!" When "I" become more
important than others and what "I" want and that "I" win is more
significant than what someone else truly needs, then "I" have lost
my way and do not display the love of Christ.
PRAYER:
Holy God and Sacrificial Father, teach me to notice others and
value them just as you do. I know you loved me when I was not
lovable, and redeemed me when I was not worthy. Help me to take my
eyes off myself and see others as you see them. In the name of
Jesus I pray. Amen.
http://www.heartlight.org/cgi-shl/todaysverse.cgi?day=20020211

As a BS I have been given the "I'm not in love with you speech", been given list of all my wrong doings, how I was the reason the A happened.
and yet as the BS, am I not guilty of holding on to all the wrongs I feel that have been done to me.
My marriage will soon be officially over, I don't want to be the bitter exwife. I don't want to be friend either especially with the OW, but I do want to let go who did who wrong, in the long run does it really matter.
-

Hi sing,
No, in the end of a marriage it doesn't matter who did what to the other......it is when a new relationship begins that these wrongs should be thought about, so you don't do them the next time.
Over the past seven months I have evaluated nearly every bad thing I did, and the same with the things he did. I am getting to the point where I stop myself, and say, does it matter NOW? No, it doesn't. But you can bet that I am more aware of how to have a better relationship now, thanks to MB...I know the pitfalls, I know the red flags, I know my EN's and the way I LB, and I am glad I do. Because I will carry that into my new life, and hopefully learn from past mistakes, and be a much happier person for it.
Thank you for the inspiring post.
Good to drop in on you again! It has ben a while.
love and light,
Jacky

Yes, thank you sing, for the inspiration. I agree with Nina too that it's important to learn from our mistakes, but also important not to accept blame that isn't ours. We can't love another until we first love ourselves.
As my counselor says, "When one door closes, another door opens. But it's hell in the hallway!"
