I have a Question that I hope somebody can answer or at least send me to a place were I can get some info on. Has anyone gotten a divorce then after a while built back the trust that you once had and gotten remarried.
If you don't know Almostbroken's and my stories then please read. I really would like some guidance on this subject if anyone has any information.

I want to know about this too. I have searched this site and found a few posts about this, but not as much info as I would like.
My xh and I are taking baby steps with each other and our hope is to be able to put our relationship back together at some point in the future. We are clearly not "finished" with one another and there is a lot of love there. Also, uniquely, there aren't any OPs for either of us. That makes our divorce a little different than most.
Any success stories of how to do this?

cajunky,
I actually know 3 couples who have divorced and then remarried. All 3 are still together, too. One is my former BIL and his W. Alcoholism was the primary reason for the D. He is now and has been a recovered alcoholic and they remarried after one year of D.
The second couple are former neighbors. The lady's daughter (only child) was killed in an auto accident on the day after her college graduation. I believe the W's inability to accept the loss of her only child drove this couple apart. They were D for over 2 years and then remarried. The H had actually relocated to the other side of the country during the divorced 2 years.
Last couple is an acquaintance couple. All I know is that they were divorced for 5 years and then remarried. They have been remarried for 6 years now, I believe. I was never told (and never asked) the circumstances of their D, so I don't know if infidelity was involved.
It definitely can happen. However, of all the divorced couples I know, these 3 represent a small, small fraction, so I would say it is possible, but not probable.
Desiree
[ February 19, 2002: Message edited by: Roll Me Away ]
[ February 19, 2002: Message edited by: Roll Me Away ]

Hey you.
My aunt and uncle had a particularly nasty divorce when I was in college. Word from home was he had a girlfriend and was a raging alcoholic. They have 2 of my nicest cousins. It took a few stints in rehab for him, and a ton and a half of patience for her, but last summer we camped near their new vacation home in the north woods of WI. The family is once again intact and if he keeps pinching her butt at the family parties someone is going to tell them to get a room. I'm 32, so it is probably about 12 years since their divorce. My cousins are happy and well adjusted, and are in nice loving relationships themselves.
I hope this gives you a nice picture.
Elizabeth

Thanks so much for the replys. As you know from my other post I am the WS with multiple affairs. We were reconciling when she found out about the last one.It had happened months ago but that is beside the point. We were at a point that we knew it was going to work again but this was the one that pushed her over the edge. Our love for each other is still there but of course she doesn't want me right now or trust a thing I say or do. I think it should be said that our marriage was great before and I truelly believe it can be again. Its encouraging to know that if the trust is put back in and things really do change in the relationship then you can work it out no matter what stage of the game you are in.
Just keep me in your prayers because I know God will do great things for us.
Love in Christ,
cajunky
