Howdy folks.
This is what happened to me on Valintines Day. And hence the title of the post. "I'm SOooo Glad I got a Divorce"
Setting the stage: Its Weds Feb.13. Its my night to have my daughter. I have a couple of free minutes before I pick her up from school so I decide to go into Wal-Mart and pick up a Valintines day Rose for my D and my X.. A yellow rose for my D as she is my yellow rose of Texas, and a tangerine colored one for the X. (Just singles(1 ea.)) I also pick up a generic V-day card for X, and a cute little snoopy card for the D, and a pair of 2 for a dollar box of Choc.'s.
Nothing fancy, Nothing Red, I just think everybody should get alittle something for V-Day.
So I'm checking out and the lady behind the register says "Oh, what a pretty pair of roses. How are they for?" I say the yelow one is for the D, and this one is for the X." Well that must have struck a nerve because she asked me "What in the H#LL are you getting your X a rose for?" I said "Well for a couple of reasons, 1 is that everybody should get something and 2 if this 4 dollar investment gets me out of just 1 rather nasty phone concversation the return on Investment would be stagering!!" The lady in line behind me starts nodding her head in agreement. So I exit the store and head home to sign the cards.
So I pick up my D and I need to take her to soccer practice, yada,yada,yada..
I take her home to the X and give them both the items.. I was surprised that I got a big hug from the X. She came at me like she was going to give me a kiss full on the lips, which I deflicted to my cheek with the grace of a master french fenching instructor. HeHeHe..
Later that evening I get a call from the D that both her and the X went over to the house that they are going to be renting and a neighbor dog came out and bit both of them.. (Drew blood)
The first thought was is my D allright, 2nd. was did the dog have all his/her shots, 3rd. After biting my X did the dog Die a horrible death? (Oh, I'm so evil) I don't get a whole lot of answers so I hang up and crash..
On V-day around 2Pm I get a voice mail from the X. When I picked it up I'm in a freinds car coming back from a sales meeting. It was an agitated voice mail so I call her right back. Holy Moly she was screaming into the phone so load the the small speaker was distorting out. Dr. appt.s, tetnis(sp?) shots, Insurance, Yada,Yada,Yada. I've got the phone about 2 feet from my ear and the guy driving (Who by the way is getting married after know the girl just 4 months) Looks over and gives me a funny look. I told the X that I can't participate in this conversation because you are screaming so loud I don't know what you are saying and you've got to calm dowm so I can get a grasp of what's happening... (I remain calm through out the entire call) she lost the insurance card I gave her for the D. And it my fault. As usual I said of corse its my fault you lost it.. ;0).. (No kidding) that the perscription cost X$$$. so I said she's covered, and I'll help with the cost regardless. YadYadYda, And that after work I would come by and give her my insurance card so she could get a refund.
She said something like F#$king R!ght you well.
So I hang up and look over at the buddy, He asks "Was that your X?" I said "Yep" He said "D@mn" I said " Yep, I'm so glad I got Divorced,,, Are you sure you want to get married?" He never answered..
That night I went over to a girl friends house. I bought her a dozen roses. I was felling down after the previous phone call and asked if we could just stay home and do the pizza thing. Then after thinking about for a few minutes I said no, Heck no. I came over here to take you out and dagnabit that is what I'm going to do. LET'S GO. We go have a nice dinner. I turned my cell phone off for the whole time. I dropped her off around 9Pm said I had to go home and take care ofthe Dog.
On the way home I called my divorce buddy (another girlfriend) and wished her a happy V-day. She said I was the only person that remebered her on V-day.
SOooo here it is today and I think I want to break up with the girl I've been seeing for the last 4-6 months. And just go back to the gym.
Just thought I'd share my week with ya. Man I are all woman so high maintenance ;0) hehehehex100000.
They can be fun but D@nm the work, and I'm single.
Ya'll be good..
Tex.

Hey Tex, I'm glad you survived another day in this insane asylum called Earth.
Yeah women can be hard work for us guys and vice versa (to be fair to the ladies) . But at the same time there is never a dull moment when we are with them and I would never trade my experiences, the good and the bad, I had with the women that were part of my life. Those experiences IMNSHO have made me stronger, more appreciative of life, and just maybe a better human beign.
Have a good one.
Joe

I don't know about all women.....
I just think it was very nice of you to think of the women in your life on Valentine's Day. I didn't get a darn thing....wasn't expecting anything, but still...a little surprise from someone....anyone.....would have been nice. Oh well...
Hope things get better. Aloha, Ms.O

Tex - Wow! I think it is so nice that you bought your xw a rose... I think very sweet.
Don't let your xw put you against all women please... hope that your want to break up with g/friend is not because of your xw. Not all woman are the same. About high maintenance, I just think relationships are high maintenance, but also if we work real hard we can make a new relationship work.
Ms O - I also got nothing for V day... hey wait a minute... I got an sms from my ex boyfriend (from school days), which was great, and email V message from my internet friend. But I spent the night watching TV and eating ice cream...

You know what I mean? Stable, non-judgemental, non-blamer, and LIKES TO CUTTLE!!!..
Being able to communcate is a biggy too.
Somebody that likes camping/fishing.
Be able to shot pool would be nice..
Likes Texas Blues music.
Long drives in the country.
Can cook.
Doesn't need to be called every night to check in.
Likes Sci-Fi movies. (I know this one is a reach)
Looks equally good in a black evening dress or blue jeans and a sweat shirt.
Somebody that doesn't need to be fixed..
Ok I'll stop. I'm at work and I'm day dreaming to much. ;0)
Tex.

LMAOX10000000000000.. ;0)
O... 12 Monkeys, Andromeda Strain => 2 of my most fav book/movies.. Excellent clasics..
Update:
The bite on my D's hard isn't scabbing, its starting to puss up.. The X is going to take her back to the Dr's Office.
Animal control called her and said the dog is not exibiting abnormal behavior, but will be kept in observation for another week.
She (The Xw) was just informed that she will be getting this rent house and is all excited.. (I'm glad for her).. We had a long discussion about what she should do about the neighbor. Or I should say she talked and I listened for the most part. I recomended she have a face to face w/ the neighbor and talk to them about it in a non-confrontational manner.. She kept telling me what people in her office said she should do.. Things like do nothing to leave a note. I finaly asked her just "What is it that YOU THINK YOU should do?" To which she said "I Don't know" So basiclly I read that to say "I'm scared and I need help".. So I said I would go with her to the neighbers house if she needed me to.. That seemed to calm her down alot..
Tex.

Italian and German is my specialities, but I'm no slouch at seafood or French either. Just not a great baker. Pineapple upside down cake is the only thing I make consistently for dessert
Doesn't need to be called every night to check in.
I need my down time but it's nice to hear your sweetie's voice at the end of the day. My boyfriend(yes, I'm another happy divorcee) still can't believe I'm as easy going as I am or as into the "geeky" things that I am. A rose for Ms.O ---{-@
V-day was going to be my big day, I had an apology and reconciliation letter typed up on quality paper, flowers and special gifts picked out... until I found out she was shacking up. I'm glad I didn't send any of it as I saw a huge bouquet of "I love you" flowers from her new BF when I dropped my son off
