Hi,
In early January my wife gave me the 'I need some space/time' speech. She was having an affair. I moved out for about 1 month now and I'm wondering if we do divorce, what effect my being out of the home will have on my chances of getting the kids.
I understand I am in an uphill battle to get children from their mother, but I'm looking for any little edge.
Thanks,

LFW,
Just a few questions.
Is your wife willing to negotiate as far as custody? How far apart do you and your wife live? Do you want full custody, or shared custody?
You may want to set up an appointment with a Family Justice councellor (check the blue pages). They can give you an idea of where you may stand legally. They can draw up an agreement for you with out the cost of a lawyer if you and your wife can come to an agreement. They sort of act as a mediator.
That's about all I can offer for now.

Our oldest is from a previous relationship (hers) and she goes with her dad every second weekend. That wouldn't work for me. I would want the kids full time.
I'm just wondering if during this 'trial' separation, I'm hurting my chances of getting the kids full time.
Thanks,
