Thanks for all of those that posted to my other thread "Does God help?"
I went to a church based on the advice of my ex-neighbors and reading the flyer. I was looking for a non-demoninational church because I am a non-practicing Catholic and mom is a non-practicing Jew. She told me she doesn't believe that Jesus was our savior. She believes in God.
I too believed in God as the one that guides us. So I went to church and had a good time. The concept of the church was "Real People, Real Problems, Real answers." It was an uplifting time in today's terminology with God and Jesus mixed in. I was having a good time when I noticed I was at a Christian church.
Excuse me for my ignornace but when is the fundamental difference between Catholic, Christian, and being Jewish?
All I know is I had a good time and I want to go back. I want to bring my daughter next weekend when I have her but I am afraid to tell the STBX.

I'd caution you on jumping headlong into "feel-good" theology...
...it falls into the same realm as "feel-good" pyschology.
Search not for "quick" happiness...
...but longtern JOY...
J - Jesus
O - Others
Y - Yourself (it's the real Plan A)
Walk your journey through the fullness of truth.

Well, gosh, I don't know about not telling her. Personally, I've got a big mouth. LOL As to the differences in religions, I'm no expert since I just practice a "believe in God and try to be the best you can be in God's eyes" kinda thing. I'm a totally not into organized religion kind of person. I take the best I can find from all faiths and try to live by them. But, I know Lutherans and Catholics are not that far apart in their beliefs...please somebody correct me on this if I am wrong - doesn't the Jewish faith believe that Jesus was not the Son of God, but an apostle or somehting, or am I thinking of a different religion? Sorry for my stupidity. I've listened to so many different points of view, and I just lose track. I admire the principles of the Jewish faith although I'm not real up on who they think did what. I stopped trying after I hit about 10 and discovered that God has many names, but most of the basics are the same. Love, be honest, bring joy to others and know that there is a higher power. Not much wisdom I'm afraid, but a lot of faith.
Find your own way, don't apologize for bettering yourself and enjoy your relationship with God in whatever form it takes.
