I e-mailed my only sister the two articles noted so that she could get an idea of what I've been going through, but didn't really tell anyone.
She refused to acknowledge receiving it and can't talk to me about it. She believes all mothers should stay home and does not believe in Divorce. I need family support now, but I feel like I've lost a sister. She can't discuss any of this with me, and really won't talk about it.
How do you deal with your family members who abandon you?

I want to take a shot at answering your post.
Newly: A lot of people in this world have different views of how their own personal realities are structured. Your sisters veiw of reality does not conform and doesn't react well to the situation you are going through at this time. This isn't her fault, nor is it yours. She may not have the skill sets to deal with it or if she can't see beyond her world then I would guess that talking about it threatens her believe system.. In other words by talking about it she may find that her believes are wrong..
What you need is to be able to talk to someone, not just anyone, but somebody that can objective.. I'm not talking about the "Misery loves Company" kind of people to talk to.. Right now you need someone to listen to you.
This is hard for your sister right now..
There is nothing wrong w/ going to a counsuler or a pastor/priest/minister, a friend of your sisters or mothers, or heck just the lady/guy next door. You do need to get this out if only just so you can think about the situation from a different precpective..
Don't blame your sister.. My bet is she'll come around in a while, when she reconizes you are not trying to convert her believe system.
Just my .02$.
Tex.

Thanks. I meet with my counselor at 5 pm today, and the separated support group at 7:30 pm.
I need both today.
