Mine has been a rather typical story of betrayal (abuse rather than infidelity in my case), denial (his refusal to seek counseling), divorce (nasty custody/property battle), lies, anger, awakening, more lies, mind games, etc.
So many people here are at one of these stages in their life, and may not be able to see past the current pain and turmoil.
Just wanted to share my wonderful Spring Break adventures with anyone who needs a pick-me-up. I've been dating the man I want to grow old with for eleven months now (have known him for 14 years), and I am just so happy now, people are pointing out the difference in my voice, my smile ...
I feel like ME again.
For most of you, if not all of you, life will get better ... if you let it.
[ April 10, 2002: Message edited by: Princess Buttercup ]

I'm with you sister! Over a year ago I was ready to take my own life, I was crying all day long and staying up all night, I thought life was over.
Wrong! Life is indeed a great thing and you can get past this. Yes, you will hurt now but time really does heal all wounds, as corny as that sounds.

PB, I am from Louisiana originally and your pics and descriptions all made me homesick!! I am happy that your outlook on life is so much brighter. There is a life after divorce. We have to be willing to release our anger and pain and then be willing to let love and happiness into our life and hearts once more. With the grace of God, we can all be happy again.
Take care, Desiree

Thanks for the responses, TR, Nduli2 and Desiree. I've also been despondent, sleepless and suicidal ... but thankfully that left when I did.
I've often thought of my departure as coming out of a cave, and being afraid of the sunlight, because I'd been told so many times that it did not exist ... fear of the unknown and unfamiliar mires so many into the most miserable situations.

Thanks for the encouragement, I can really use it today as this is the first day that I have accepted my marriage is over and it sucks. I am trying to believe that it will be better someday. Dave
