I called my x today to tell her I am going out of town in May, she said fine and then asked me info about my pension.
As I was looking for the paper work, she told me her and Mike/om/h are splitting up. They were married for a year as of last Dec. Discovery Day is coming up in May at 3 yrs. We have been divorced for just over 2 yrs.
She asked me not to tell the kids, she is going to basically lie to them and tell them he is going to Florida to take care of his mother. She said she doesn't want to bring any more upset into the kids lives(hey she finally is thinking about the kids.)
She said I could say I told you so, but I didn't. I thought I would laugh in her face, but I didn't.
I just feel sick and sad I guess that someone else has to go this pain. Really not the emotion I thought I'd have.
She did manage to get in a dig at me saying out marriage never had a chance anyway.
[ April 16, 2002: Message edited by: RWD ]

Of course it didn't, Bob. It had her in it.
It sounds like you're healing pretty well from all of this, based on your empathetic reaction to the news. God bless you...

Some good news for a change.
WAT needs to get over here and read this. It's what I was talking about in his thread.
"She did manage to get in a dig at me saying out marriage never had a chance anyway."
Sounds just like my WSXW. I believe this is only her coping mechanism. She's now looking back and knows she's messed up. She now can see what she has lost and doesn't want to face it. Don't take it personally. It is only her rationalization to protect herself from her grief.
Kevin

Bob,
WOW! I have followed your story for a long time now,m and this is sure a shocker! I feel really bad for your kids. How confusing this has all got to be for them. I am so glad you have continued to be the stable influence throughout this entire ordeal.
I agree that it speaks volumes that you were so unemotional about it all. She has become the statistic we all tried to tell our former spouses about. I do feel sorry for her, even though she ordered this upon herself. I hope for your childrens' sakes that she gets herself into counselling ASAP and begins to address the myriad of issues she needs to deal with.
Keep moving forward with your own healing and self recovery!
Take care, Desiree

Thanks all.
Nothing has changed so far. She hasn't told the kids yet as far as I can tell. She hasn't talked to them since Mon.
She called twice today when they weren't home as they were both a ball practice all evening. She told me she is working the next 3 nites and to have the kids call her.
I think she must not be allowed to call from work as it is long distance. The last time she called from work, an unlisted number showed up instead of her work number so she must have been on her cell phone.
Anyhow I told the kids and neither one bothered to call her.
Its hard to believe I have been here almost 3 yrs.
[ April 17, 2002: Message edited by: RWD ]

So what are you supposed to say to something like this ......
It's what practically everyone here at MB is trying to avoid - the WS making a HUGE mistake, ruiningg everyone's lives just to be with the OP. We all know it's not going to last over the protests of the WS and then it happens - but not after the damage is done.
I'm glad you've been able to move on. It's probably for the best especially since it doesn't sound like your WW has even learned her lesson.
I see my future in this and it does not make me very happy. I do hang on to the fact that I am making my own recovery effort and that my WH is not worth having a relationship with in his current state of mind, and will never be worth having a relationship with if he continues in this state of mind.
You do realize that we have a special Go Straight to Heaven pass after all this....
K

I know you were simply making a joke, but this will do absolutely nothing to get us into Heaven.
