Imteresting development - for anyone who has managed to follow the saga of the past 8 months of my life.
Went to see a chlid counselor today, and talksed about some issues that WH had concerning the kids.
WH wanted to change their schools - to school where OW has her kids - counselor said - not a good idea - they need something constant in their lives especially if we have to move. Yeah!
Then counselor said that as far as the baby was concerned - the most WH should see her without me is a couple of hours every week - no overnights! Counselor said that if WH didn't agree to this then we would never be able to control her when she became a teenager. WH HATED to hear this, but I think he'll go along with this. Hooray!
Counselor said that the children should go no longer than 3 days without seeing the other parent.
We're supposed to go back - but WH doesn't have any time before the hearing and didn't make another appointment, so once again I have to do the leg work.
Also, for those with controlling WH's, I heard some great advice by someone who does consulting work in divorce cases - she said to treat them like a 2 year old, since they act like one. Give them two choices for something rather than wait for them to do things themselves. I've noticed that when I put my foot down, that it makes WH fight even harder, which gets us nowhere.
Still have no idea about what will happen at the hearing.
Thanks for the prayers and good wishes. Hi K-
I am so happy to hear things are going in your favor. You have really handled all of this so well and you have involved people who not only know what they are doing, but are acting in the best interest of your children. Although these people are not telling you anything you didn't already know, they are backing you up. Moreover, although the extra leg work is a total pain, it will also look favorably on you. You have put aside your own feelings and interests in order to meet the needs of your children. Pat yourself on the back. You deserve it. I'll continue to keep you in my prayers. You're right, they do work and things are getting better for both of us.
Take care and God bless! K
