Hi there Sing,
I am presuming your students need to make this food and take it along to class? Okay, well I have a few suggestions. One is delicious pavlova (a meringue based cream and fruit topped dessert) Anzac Biscuits (cookies you call them - and this is an appropriate one because tomorrow is Anzac Day here, 25th April, the day we remember fallen soldiers from The Australian and New Zealand Army Corps - these biscuits were made in WW1 to send to the troops because they travelled well), and lamingtons - sponge cake rolled in chocolate icing and coconut.
I think you can find all of the recipes here:
http://fooddownunder.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=Australian&words=all
That site also has a lot of other international recipes.
Vegemite is a sandwich spread, and difficult to get there, I imagine. Pick one of those things above and I will send you the recipe.
Hint: if you want simple to make, go for the Anzacs, if you want to impress, go for the pavlova.
Love and light, and glad to help,
Jacky

Oops!
I forgot to mention that some of the ingredients may not be familiar to you because we call them different things here. If you have any questions, just ask!

There is a company in Atlanta called the Australian Catalog Company, I believe. You can order Aussie foods through them. Candy bars. cookies. teas. stuff like that. Vegemite.
Vegemite is rather nasty stuff however, if spread very thinly on well-buttered toast, you won't gag too much.
