quote:
“The children mentioned above will attend Salina Public School district beginning the fall of 2002”. A decision of that magnitude is not one that you are in a position to make. It is a decision that the girls, you, and I had already agreed to discuss at the end of this school year. A decision like this that affects so many lives is one that you and I should make with some input from the children. The continual disruption of these children’s educational and social lives is in no way in their best interest and will lead to problems down the road. I do know that you’ve tried to rally support from the girls about this and again I say that we should not put them in a position of making what should be a parental decision, nor should we attempt to influence their attitudes with promises of grandeur. I believe you will find that your attempt to influence has lead Jessica to indifference on the school issue but you will also find that Mykiala and Corissa are not that indifferent when it comes to leaving the stability of the Tescott or Minneapolis schools and the breaking of hard earned friendships. You know I find it ironic that when we moved to Tescott, you as well as I told many people that we moved to get our children in a small town and out of Salina Schools. Then when you moved to Minneapolis, at our first school conference you made it a point to repeatedly tell me how much you loved this school. Now all of a sudden small town schools don’t offer them enough opportunities and a Salina school is where they need to be. This is obviously an issue that we need to discuss with each other as well as the girls. Our first priority should be their best interest, not our selfish individual desires. If you would like to discuss this issue prior to getting mediation or going back to court please contact me prior to May 6th, otherwise I will get in contact with my attorney to seek resolution to this matter as well as some others matters.

“The children mentioned above will attend Salina Public School district beginning the fall of 2002”. Educational decisions are not decisions that can be made unilaterally. It is a decision that the girls, you, and I had already agreed to discuss at the end of this school year. Educational decisions are a parental responsibility with only minor input from the children affected. The continual disruption of these children’s educational and social lives is in no way in their best interest and may lead to problems down the road. I find the situation ironic in that we moved to Tescott to get our children in a small town and out of Salina Schools. Then when you moved to Minneapolis, at the first school conference you made it a point to repeatedly tell me how much you loved this school. Now all of a sudden, your reasoning has changed 180 degrees, small town schools don’t offer them enough opportunities and a Salina school is where they need to be. This reversal of thinking with no current educational issues questions the basis of your reasons. If you would like to discuss this issue prior to getting mediation or going back to court please contact me prior to May 6th, otherwise I will get in contact with my attorney to seek resolution to this matter as well as some others matters.

quote:
2. I noticed that your letter did not indicate the address at which you will be living in Salina. It’s my understanding that you are planning on cohabitating with XXXX. I should say it’s a rumor because the last two times I inquired about your housing situation you told me that you didn’t know what you were going to do but Jessica has written his address on a school paper as her next address. Let me just say that if you do this I am saddened that you are putting our children into that situation. Cohabitation relationships have over an eighty percent failure rate once again setting our children up for future disruption. Add to that the school issues that needlessly arise, the morality issues that surround this type of non-committal relationship, and to me it just looks like a no win situation for the girls.
3. The letter that you sent me is required by Kansas Statues as a Thirty written notice of changing a residence. However, since writing that letter the girls have not spent one night at their current residence in Minneapolis.

2. The morality issues that surround this type of non-committal relationship is not the best parental behavior modeling for the girls.
