Hi, I'm new here. I've been married for a little more than 3 years. My husband has always been violent. He was out of the country for more than 2 yrs. Now in Feb. he suddenly told me that he won't send any support. That was the point when I said it is over. He is up and down all the time. He talks to the Pastor and it seems everything is changing, next thing he does is to call and be nasty. In a way I feel bad to do this as I am a beliver on the other hand I know that it can't be God's will for me to be with an abusive and irresponsible man. Is there anybody who can give me some advice?

notadog,
Please make sure that you protect yourself both financially and from the violence.
If you do a search on this board and the GQII board on violence, domestic abuse, you should be able to pull up some posts covering these topics, as well as some info. about books to read and agencies to contact.
You can't work on a marriage when there are intervening situations like a violent spouse. I don't know the specifics, but if your H gets help then maybe you can apply some of the MB principles. Be sure to read the site and familarize yourself with the prinicples and work on you! K

God is in control,
Thank you for answering. I know, it is not possible to work with him. He's not a Christian and I know I am at the point where I am not willing to risk anything anymore. He has been out of the country for nearly 3 years so I don't have to deal with violence. Last night I talked to my Pastor and finally he gave his okay that I go ahead to divorce as he was counseling my STBX for many month now but nothing really changed. Financially he will get away very easily as he is in Japan and I am in Germany. He hasn't paid anything for the past month.
