Well, I'm divorced.
I don't quite know how I'm supposed to feel, but due to all of the prayers from everyone, I'm holding it together.
WH got off EXTREMELY easy in the short run, but in 6 mos. we have another hearing to determine permenant alimony and child support and so I may be able to better my deal.
Anyway, it's over, and hopefully God led me in the right direction, and to the right result.
It will be crazy in the next 6 mos. trying to look for a job, trying to sell the house etc. but I'll continue to take things one day at a time.
WH leaves me a message on the answering machine this afternoon about how he's not happy that we had to get divorced and that he'll continue to take care of me etc...... But, if he was really sorry he would not have done it (his words were - he's not a bad person, it's just a character flaw) I really need to hit him up for some more money right now while the guilt is thick.
I'll post more later. I'm still digesting my new state in life - which is so weird because I'm Catholic and as far as I'm concerned the divorce was just a separation of property issue and we're still technically married - I just happen to have a husband who is running around with another woman, living with his parents, and basically paying me a little money in support.
THANKS AGAIN to everyone.I could not have gotten through the day without you!
K

{{{{{GIIC}}}}}}
Whew, huh? It might take a little while for things to sink in for you. We're here for you if that happens. That's what happened to me. You seem in good spirits, and have a healthy attitude.
More prayers headed your way.....

Hi K-
Hang in there. The effects of today will hit you a little at a time. I'm always here for you if you need to talk.
Nice of you X to tell you he's sorry this had to happen. Hello, it didn't have to happen. He really is in denial.
Anyway. I'll keep the prayers going for you and the kids. Things will get better. I promise.
Take care and God bless!

{{{{{{{{{{{ K }}}}}}}}}}}}
I'm sorry about the D. I know things may seem overwhelming for you right now, with having to sell the house and getting a job .... but you have the right attitude Hon, just tackle things one at a time. Break everything down into manageable pieces.
Before my D, my attorney kept telling me to hurry and expedite things, that ole' guilt factor. I know he was right, but I just let things languish ... it hurt too much to do anything at that point in time.
I was blessed tho, God was there and watching. No matter how long it took before we were D (1+ year) my H didn't go after anything, only his personal items. But I was lucky, I had a lot to lose.
I know WS's say and promise alot of things during and immediately aft the D, please know your H may mean it when he says he'll always take care of you, and he just may .... but just in case, do what you have to to take care of yourself and the kids.
You're going to be okay, K. Take things slow, be good to yourself, and know that many have gone before you and thrived. Just give yourself time. It's key.
Love,
Jo

Hey, I'm sorry, it's not fair. But on the plus side, the stressor of the court date is past you and you can relax and concentrate on you and the kids and getting settled in with your new daughter.
I want to refer you to one of the MB success stories, lostva. She seldom posts anymore but she did a beautiful job of Plan A'ing. You can keep her in mind if you think you'd like to reconcile with your divorced husband.
She continued working on herself and being sweet and loving, didn't hound him, and he moved in with his soulmate and told her he wanted a divorce. His soulmate showed her true colors, or maybe it was a case of the fog clearing, and he came back. THey rebuilt from the ground up.
Anyway, it's just a thought. I'm just glad you're all right.
Onto another thread of yours: The baby shouldn't be going on visits with him as long as she is a nursing infant. I hope you got in touch with La Leche and got some good advice. I remember you were trying to do that.
Be well.
