What is my problem? I used to be very trusting until my 1st husband lied, cheated and left. 2nd hubby didn't cheat but he wasn't very honest so it was difficult for me to give my heart fully. Jealousy cropped up years ago with my 2nd husband of 16 years, I was able to beat it by believing God has my best interests at heart and will take care of me no matter what. But I also know I couldn't fully love him because I couldn't believe or trust him. His integrity was not real high.
I am in a relationship with an honest guy, as far as I know (it has only been 5 mo. he says he is). Jealousy has cropped up.
Yes it could be fear of losing him, but I will lose him if I am mistrustful, that is a killer. I feel like I am mistrustful because there hasn't been enough time to develop a complete trust. I also wonder if I feel like I "own" him. That is bad. Love should be giving, not controling or ownership.
So should we just give each other the freedom to see others to help me to get over the "owner" mentality?
I guess my problem is I haven't known very many honest men. I have been in the church for over 20 years, I think this is very sad and a disgrace to the name of the Lord. My boyfriend now is not a christian. He seems to have much more integrity then most christian men I know. I choose honest girlfriends. If I don't think I can trust them for what ever reason, they aren't a close friend . I have a few lifer deep friendships.
I REALLY love him, he is the greatest guy I know in spite of his faults. How do I overcome my mistrust?
Help?

Hi Ramblin, I've been in the church most of my life and my mother was a preacher. I was divorced a year and a half ago and it has amazed me the difference between the christian girls and the non-christian girls I've dated.
I'm thinking now that I don't want to date a girl who goes to church regular. I've received more honesty and consideration from women who don't go at all. It's bothered me a little too...
Good luck to ya Ramblin, I wish you well...
Sam
