--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've read some posts recently about some ladies on the board who are experiencing a decrease in their sexual interest..Some have had hysterectomies..and there's been some talk about seeming to be in early menopause in the age range of the 30's.
This reminded me of a book I read recently called "What Your Doctory May Not Tell You About Premenopause" Balance Your Hormones and Your Life from Thirty to Fifty. It's by John R. Lee, M.D., and Jesse Hanley, M.D.
The authors call these various symptoms "pre-menopausal syndrome": weight gain, fatigue, mood swings, loss of libido, fibroids,
tender or lumpy breasts, endometriosis, PMS, infertility, memory loss, migraines, very heavy or light periods, cold hands and feet or a combination of these...
Anyway, it's all about being out of whack hormonally, thanks in no small part to the environmental toxins that increase the levels of estrogen in our systems. Too much estrogen causes all kinds of problems.
It's interesting reading for any of you who might be experiencing any of these things.
Lisann67@email.com
Another cause may be polycystic ovaries. Apparently, many women have this but are not diagnosed. I am in my 20's and was finally diagnosed about 1 year ago after seeing several different doctors.
My hormones were so out of whack. Weight gain, mood swings, irregular periods, loss of interest in sex, etc. Since starting the medication things are back to normal.
Just wanted to throw in my two cents as polycystic ovaries seems to be very common but overlooked a lot.
Tulip
