I recieved our income tax refund today. Should I go ahead and split it with the wife or should I hold the checks till mediation.... She has called and asked about them several times. I told her i thought it was a good idea to let my lawyer hold them till the divorce was over... what do you guys think?

I would let the lawyer handle it if I were you.

What does your heart tell you? Me, personally I would give her half of them now. I mean they are rightfully hers, too, aren't they?
But be sure to get a receipt for what you give her so that you can give that to your attorney. In fact, maybe you should give her a check for her portion and deposit it so that the cancelled check will be proof of payment.
[ May 22, 2002: Message edited by: franklymydears ]
