A different way of looking at your problems<p>Once there was a king who liked one of his advisers
very much because he was wise and always gave him
useful advice. <p>So the king took him along wherever he went, and one
day when the king was bitten by a dog, and the wound
on his finger became worse, he asked his adviser if
that was a bad sign.<p>And his adviser replied, "Good or bad, that's hard
to say".<p>Soon after that, the king's finger got so bad it had
to be cut off, and again he asked his adviser if that
was a bad sign.<p>And again his adviser told him "Good or bad, that's
hard to say", and the king became angry and had him
locked in prison.
A few weeks later the king went hunting and became
lost chasing a tiger deep into the jungle. Soon he
was captured by natives who lived there and wanted
to sacrifice him to their god.<p>But when they saw the king was missing a finger,
they released him immediately because he wasn't
perfect and was no longer suitable for sacrifice.<p>And the king finally understood the wisdom of what
his adviser had been telling him: "Good or bad,
that's hard to say". <p>Because if the king hadn't lost his finger, he'd
have lost his life.<p>So when he returned he ordered his adviser's
release, and when he apologized his adviser told
him he wasn't angry. "It wasn't bad that you locked
me up," he said, "because otherwise you'd have taken
me with you to the jungle and when they released you
they would have sacrificed me."<p>Tell me, have you got some "bad" stuff happening in
your life right now? Stuff you wouldn't wish on your
worst enemy? Maybe, just maybe, it's *not* what you
think it is...maybe it's the break you've been
looking for...<p>...if you can just *see* it that way.<p>Because in the end, whether it's "good" or "bad"
will depend on *you* and how *you* choose to see it.<p>And the good news is, that's entirely up to you.<p>© Pat Lynch, 2002. All rights reserved.<p>Please feel free to forward this on.<p>***********<p>Out of the Box is a free weekly e-mail newsletter created
