Milli,
I ran a poll recently on Custody arrangements and boy was I surprised. More people have 50/50 than I would have thought.
I don't know how far you now live from where you plan to be (Seattle) but that can make a major difference in your decisions.
From your posts, should I assume your spouse is Indian? Did he come to this country with you or was he educated here? Could make a difference. Is this a green card marriage? The lawyers could spin it that way.

Currently we have 50/50 custody and I reside in the same town as my XH for past 9 years. I'm planning to relocate 4 hours away.
Yes, my spouse is Indian. We just got his permanent residency status on 5/11--and he is still with me.
My reasons for moving:
Close to extended family members: Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Support and building closer relationship with them.
Better financial/career/education opportunities. (Can't make it here in this town).
Investment in securing a better future for "everyone" in the family.
XH reasons for staying & wanting kids:
This is "our" home. (He has the house)
We know people here (No family/casual friends or kid's friends).
Seattle is a dangerous place. YD may get kidnapped.
No change of school/friends/house.
S doesn't want to live with Mom, (due to remarriage)--therefore all 3 kids should live with him.
