Least we forget that we are blessed in so many ways, I just wanted to share a miracle that happened to our family today.
For the past few days, it has been forecast that there would be rain today, this afternoon to be more specific, ensured by the prediction of a tropical depression coming straight into our town between 12-3pm.
Well, my oldest son turns 8 today and ExH was gracious enough to let me have him for today only. So, I planned a swim party for him to occur at 2pm.
Oldest son prayed that it wouldn't rain, I prayed that it wouldn't rain, and more importantly that the tropical depression would not come our way, as foretold by the lastest and greatest weather equipment.
Well, our power went out at about 9:30am and didn't come back on until 2pm and I had no way of knowing what was going to happen with the weather.
Low and behold, it never rained, and instead the sun actually came out. The power came back on at 2pm and I learned that the tropical depression took anther route.
And to top it all off, we had the most beautiful sun set - the entire sky was painted with pinks and purpples and oranges.
The party was a success and it had been just a glorious day.
This was especially important because I really am having a difficult time with my oldest son with all of this divorce mess going on, so we really needed this day to be great.
God does take care of his faithful ones, not always in the ways we want it to happen, but He is still looking out for us.
Just wanted you all to share in my joy and not just in my pain. K

God is in control,
God is good
I have a similar story concerning God and the weather - On the way to the airport ( about an hour away) it was storming so bad that I couldn't even see the car in front of me. To make matters worse, My D was going on her FIRST flight all by herself.
I kept praying and said God you can clear the skies just like you parted the Red Sea. Just as we got to the airport, the sun broke out. As I watched her plane take off, It was a beautiful sunny day! thank you Lord

Oh...Keep on praying.
My daughters' birthdays are coming up on Wednesday. We are having a combined birthday-going to college party at the base pool that evening.
We used to do this every year-and invariably the day of the party it turns rainy and cold. However, it has always cleared up for the party. We didn't have the party last year--so we are trying for one last birthday blast before my daughter heads off to college. Let's pray that God continues this trend for a few more days.
Glad to hear you both had good days. Pat

Thanks for reminding me that God really does answer prayer and He is so good to us.
I too have a tremendous praise report. I just completed a 10 day trip out to the midwest where I drove slightly over 3,000 miles. 95% of the traveling was done alone and I didn't have a flat tire, run out of gas, get more than 10 miles lost, or have any trouble other than a windshield busted by a rock in Kansas City, MO. And even that was not an issue with the rental car people. As far as I know, I didn't leave any valuables in any hotel and all my luggage made it back to the airport with me. I even had pretty good luck with my flights ( 2 of 4 were on time) and the other 2 were from O'hare so I had no expectation of being on time anyway.
Anywho, it was a great trip. I absolutely loved driving around into new places. God truly blessed us with a beautiful place to live. I take the natural beauty here in SC for granted so much. Now I can compare it to the hundreds of shades of green in Iowa, to the wide open skies of Kansas, to the sweltering heat of St Louis, to the long straight flat highways in Illinois, to the crowds and skyscapers in Chicago. We do live in America, the beautiful. God bless America and each one of us as we struggle to do our best to do the right things and turn our troubles over to Him and give Him the glory for our triumphs.
Love to all,
Lynn
