Hey folks,

I've had a totally uneventful day so far and am attempting to decide what so and I are going to do. I am worried about the aquarium thing unless we just go for the whole day b/c of the whole "divorce and kid being over the state line" issue. It is our state law that both parents must agree in order to take a child over state lines, even if it's barely over it by 15-20 miles.

Anyway, we are watching Ichabod and Mr. Toad, a wonderful very old Disney movie. He is eating ravioli and I am typing here.

We're thinking about heading out, that is if the weather holds, to a greenbelt in Alpharetta so he can ride his bike and I can walk.My friends want me to go out tonight, but I am just so exhausted. Plus, this is my weekend, so I can't stay out late. Thinking of staying in, doing stuff around the house and maybe going to stone mountain park tomorrow, or to the aquarium/rock city thing just for the whole day. Not sure. Need lots of work here at home today.

So tell me what you guys do on holidays? I am guilty, I guess of attempting to cram in as much as possible so we can have fun. Feel robbed, even though I am primary. Why? Because he gets our son every other weekend and one night durin the off week. I have to make accomodations for his father and am sick and dad gum tired of being a single mom. Heard via a friend today that a huge church singles group is in panama city FL this weekend and am wondering if he is there? WH was in Destin on Memorial Day and this church group was staying at same hotel. Hmmm. would be good hunting ground for him...

Decided I am going to stay in tonight and today. Go to the greenbelt, do laundry, mop floors, clean up a bit and then think about tomorrow. Ok. Here goes..Give me some input..Should I go to Chattanooga for the day? It's about 2 1/2 hours away. We could leave at 8 am. The aquarium opens at 10. We could stay until 1 or 2 then go to the see rock city thing. Stay there until close and then drive back home. Leave about 7 and get home about 10 or so. Do you guys think it would be way too hard to do?

I was so hyped yesterday about going out with the girls and today I wake up and feel like I've been run over by a mack truck. What is up with me?

Have any of you guys lost motivation to well, even the usual day to day stuff? I am like this all of the time. Maybe because I am exhausted; maybe I am somewhat depressed still. Probably a little of both. Because I don't have family here or a whole ton of friends, I hate the holidays. I cannot bear to imagine Thanksgiving or Christmas or New Year without my family or my friends back home. Last year was horrible enough even being back home briefly with them, but this year is going to s*ck...

Orchid, thank you so much! I am glad he's finally doing much better. You are the MB champ girl...I miss ya terribly and will attempt to find your phone # in my old daytimer from last year. Wish my outcome was one of the good ones, but it is not.

Oh, and I haven't heard from WH since the other day when he emailed me briefly. He is definitely on vacation somewhere. It must be nice to live like Austin Powers. He's got it soooo good. Living in a new city where nobody knows his past, free to move about chasing skirts incognito, driving his mbw, and saying, should anyone ask, that he had to deal with a "crazy wife" or that he is "already divorced". Several months back I found an internet dating site that one of my friends logged onto. He had taken out an ad complete with pics. He described himself as a very successful businessman making over 150k and enjoyed travelling to the finest resorts. Then he went on to say that he was a great father, had a great relatonship with his family. Oh, yea, at the top of his description it listed his status. His said DIVORCED. Just one of the many revelations I have had to discover. So many d days that I have lost count now.

So what did I do? Orchid, you'll love this one. First had friend overnight the ad to my attorney. We were filed for at least 4 months at this point. Then my sister and bro. in law took my pic and they wrote a very sweet description complete with "separated" and submitted it. It took a while for him to find it, but when he did, he went ballistic. I said, "how does it feel? At least I was honest." This could be an entire other topic basically. But, that is how he is. Had fun though. It is still so amazing.

Guess I just don't really want to date now. I fee like I should wear a t shirt saying "danger--jilted woman". I don't think I'll be good dating material for anyone for some time. I want to go places, have someone show me compassion, have great conversations, feel attractive, feel that old jittery thing come back, but I don't think I deep down want it to and worry it never will.

As Bridget says in movie "Bridget Jones", "I will be an old spinster found eaten by dogs". That's a great movie and I watch it at least once a month. Great d scene where she busts Hugh Grant and a skinny model ho chick. Sounds so familiar to me...That movie speaks volumes to both men and women victims of cheating. She falls in love with a nice lawyer and later finds out that her x playboy boyfriend, Hugh Grant, slept with her lawyer boyfriend's x wife and was cause of their divorce. Gee, even this movie shows how adultery causes divorce. Anyone bored can watch it.

This morning we watched "Lord of the Rings". It is classic good vs. evil. That always feels good. We need to see more of it.

Ok, rambled enough. I am signing off and checking on you guys. Have a good day.

Hi Peach,

I am house cleaning also. Doesn't ever end?!??! LOL!

Going to head out and get more school supplies. My cousin is stopping by this afternoon and will be spending the weekend here. She is on her way back from a class down south and will be heading back to the islands on Monday. So it will be nice to visit with her. She was one of my strong supporters last year.

I have lots of yard work to do. I am going to redo the side of my patio. I had the boys haul in some bricks and edging material now I have to put is in place. Wish we were closer so you could come and help. LOL! just kidding about making you come help but I do wish we were closer.

The park and aquarium plans sounds like fun. Your little one rides a bike now? Great. Our son just got a new bike and now he rides one as big as mine (which isn't big considering that I am almost 5 ft tall - LOL!!! ). Hey does Redhat know you are back? I am sure he will want to stop by and say hi. He has been going through a lot himself.

take care,
L.
ps: I found your phone number this morning when I was going through some paperwork. Maybe I'll try giving your old cell a ring. Is it the same?

Hey Peach!

Glad to hear your day is goin' better. My STBX still does not have a place of her own. She is still staying at friend she met at Methadone Clinic (who is cousin to OM--24 y/o real estate weenie). So she can't even watch the kids for the weekend. For the past several years, she ususally went off for the whole day on weekends. I figured I wanted to help her by watching the kids since she always said they drove her crazy during the week.

This morning, she said "What am I going to do about an apartment? I have no job, no money..."
I told her that is her problem. She wants me to co-sign the lease on a 2 bdm apt that is $1100/mo and pick up half the rent!! I said no way! She would get a job for 2-3 months, get bored then quit, leaving me stuck with paying the rent.

Took the kids shopping today. Finally got all school shopping done. 10 yr old daughter is a lot like her Mom (very fashion conscious--Lord help me!!). Youngest son and I put together model, went to Costco, usual Saturday stuff.

Friends invited me to party, but I don't feel like it. I lost all desire to party. Watched "Snatch" last night (not an adult movie!!). Really good British flick.

I am looking forward to meeting and dating eventually, but every woman I see, I am thinking that they also have my STBX's personality and I think NO WAY!! Hopefully, this will go away, because it has been too long...

Have a good evening!!

Hey guys!

Great Orchid! I have same old cell ending in 7291 and will give you my new home no. and address.

British films are sooooo funny. I love all of em, well mostly just the good ones, hee hee. I feel like one plucked chicken today. OK. Who votes for the drive to Chattanooga 2 1/2 hours away or only drive 1 hour tomorrow and visit Stone Mountain Park?

OK. What RU folks going to do tonight?

I have an idea.

We have a COAST TO COAST DANCE PARTY! In our own house, we play dj, put some cd's in hour disc drives and boogie. We could pick some of our favorite songs, choose one which applies best to our situation, dance our cares away, and then post here during the party. How's it sound? We can put kids to bed and act like fools in the privacy of our humble abode..

OK What time to start THE DIVORCEE DISCO? Oh, and we have to play I will Survive ok? That will be our first dance...This could be fun. Good stupid clean fun.

I woke up a few weeks ago and realized I have to get a life. Stay home and read or play here when children are away w/ their father.

Last year, good friend moved to Oregon
This year, another good friend moved to the mountains.

I have no one left to run around with.

I can't stand it any longer.

Live in a city of 1.2 million people and, in 7 years, I've spent 4 months dating one local man. Have not been asked out. So, I'm having a wonderful LDR with a man so far away I only see him every few months. But, I'm not looking any more. Just spend my time wishing my diplomat wasn't so faar away. Don't want to looked at as possible pick-up material. Don't enjoy movies alone. Found that going out to dinner alone is lonely and you often get bad tables/service. No appropriate singles group at church. Yuck!

I need a new set of friends. No one at work I'd want to socialize with. Don't see children's school friends' parents because I have to work 37.5 hrs m-f and never see anyone at school.

Yuck! That's the only way to characterize my social life.

Or should it be: Yuck!

Or: Yuck!

Or Yuck!

What's a woman to do?

As for where to go tomorrow: You have honestly attempted to contact the f? You have no contact number for him? I don't know that the world would end if you went to Chattanooga. My children love the Aquarium. We've been a couple of times.

Haven't attempted to contact his dad. I try to limit contact as much as possible. It is too difficult to do. But we do sometimes email each other and I can have short conversations w/WH if it is about son and nothing more. I have been in sort of rigid plan B until I caved in two days ago and WH spent the night. Son never found out as he was fast asleep upstairs. I know it was stupid. But now I am thinking it should just be a day trip either way. I've got so much to do here at home.

Where are you? Are you near ATL? I feel the exact same way you do. It is YUCKY isn't it..In fact, it's more than that, it is POOPY. That's my word for the whole divorce thing. poopy.

We do need to get a life. Sounds like you're actually doing better than I am. I go out from time to time with the girls, but then I get frightened and am like a turtle popping into its shell.

I am an extrovert by nature, but am turning into a hermit crab.

I know I need to start by making more friends. I have a few and have been attending church but not officially joined one here yet. I have a date on my calendar--it is two weeks from now. I am praying about that day. There is this really huge non denominal christian church not too far from me. Their single dept. is huuuge. Earlier I posted about their beach trip. Anyway, I want to get involved and at least meet some new friends while working on my relationship w/God. I am not looking for anything persay, just to get out and not feel like a clam anymore. Clammy is yucky.

Not doing much here either, cleaning house, same old thing! This was supposed to be my ex's weekend, but he asked me to trade with him (which is what he does ALL the time, to go to a ball tournament in another state). Softball is his first love and only love!!

Not much planned for me and the kids this holiday weekend. Having company for dinner tomorrow, and going to a friends house for a barbeque Monday.
Just glad to have a 3 day weekend with no work and no school for the kids.

I haven't started the "dating" thing either, been divorced since last September. Not too interested yet. Where do you meet guys anyway??? Have no idea!!!

have a great weekend everyone:)

Don't laugh, had 2 dates as result of personal ad I placed. One was gross - he was too much like x. If I had seen his picture beforehand, I would not have gone. The other I dated for 4 months or so. Nice enough guy. Dumped me and I understand why. And was fine.

But have wonderful LDR with a man for whom I truly care. So, I'm not so much interested in meeting men. I just want to meet some other mom's who would occaisionally like to have fun. Respectabel women. Like me. You know?

I'm in Nashville. The only MBer from middle Tennessee.

I say, if you want to go to Chattanooga, go. Maybe attempt email ahead of time. Assure the f, even if it is by cyber mail that it's only a day trip. Then go. Just to keep it legal.

Bummed out - and lonely tonight.
