Ok. was having a great day until about an hour ago when Austin Powers returned our son home. First he called me @ work to say that "hope you are having a good day. Son was sleepy so let him sleep in today and didn't take him to preschool. So he and I are going swimming today and relax." Then he goes into how our son wanted to sleep late and that I must not be putting him to bed at a decent hour.
Then, get this, he ends conversation saying that he will be dropping him off at my house at 4 30 b/c he has an "engagement" to attend to. I said, "what's her name this time"? That was waaay rude of me. H hung up. Called him back and was cool but apologetic. Left it on message.
Ok. they swam. Four thirty arrives and Austin drives up wearing no shirt and swimsuit. He's gotten in much better shape, but to become an international man of mystery, you'd better get that goin' on baaaaby..My son is dressed though. Wierd thing. Last week comes over and spends night. Only one email since today. He tells me how son and him are going fishing this weekend. Looks at me sorta wierd and then leaves. I just look somewhat at him, but met him with my eyes. If I could have spoken, would have said, "why did you do all of this? OW is gone now--I kept my promise but she didnt keep hers to you".
Felt sad and not sure why after he left. Guess Austin was showcasing his manly goods in front of me. That part is funny though. I'm sure my female neighbors who are keen to this whole fiasco saw that..
What's the opinion of you guys? He was kinda nice but then again, he is still non repentant and probably very foggy still despite OW's departure. I remained a lady and was cordial. Opened door wearing my scrubs, and labcoat. I looked nice but was obviously just in from work. I was actually polishing some of my furniture, ironically a new beautiful computer desk I had just bought (first piece of furniture bought since on my own) and he saw it for first time. He said house looks nice.
Wierd day. Very wierd. Just want opinions. Know fog still thick. I am still forging ahead, just wondering if H is beginning to regret his A and his actions yet...Thoughts and your stories well received..
Bye guys.

Peachy, I am SURE he has lots of regrets. I think they always do.
My ex once in awhile, gets that "sappy" look when he comes to drop the kids off. And i have said before in several posts, he is always quick to pay a compliment to me or to something in my house, or the way my house looks(WHERE WERE THE NICE WORDS, COMPLIMENTS, ETC FOR 11 YEARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are always regrets!!

Also forgot to add, when they think you have "let go of them completely" that seems to be the time they start the "sappy" stuff, it was for me anyway. But as long as you are upset, or depressed, they could care less!!
I know, because before we finally went thru the divorce, we were separated 3 different times, 2 of the times we even had a court date!! Once he knew that i was not interested anymore, he started "freaking out"!!!!

Peachy -
I know about those days, I've had my share. But did now re-married ExH change his mind- no.
I've heard from more and more people that they don't change until they see bottom - basically until they've done to a point when all they can do is look up to God and then start climbing out of the pit.
I also agree that it's still all about them and that they will take what they can get from wherever they can get it - if he thinks he can get some warm fuzzy feelings from you when he's not getting it from anywhere else then he will.
The playing hard to get also works - it's right in step with Love Must Be Tough and Divorcebusting. There comes a time when you can be nice but have moved on and know that you'll be ok without them and they seem to sense it wans want to hold on to whatever they can.
My ExH thrives on any type of encounter that he can have with me. It's like he just can't relinquish the control. Howeverm I've come to a point where I'm strong enough to set my boundaries and I'm not at his beck an call anymore. He's still trying to push my buttons, but I don't let it affect me like it used to. And eventually he'll get tired of the game - I hope.
I know that the monotony of daily life has set in for ExH and new wife. He called the kids to say goodnight, while OW was taking a bath and talked to them, and played with his dog, and folded clothes the whole time. If I was a new ly wed and didn't have my kids or new spouses kids for the first night in weeks - I wouldn't be spending my time on the phone while my hubby was taking a bath - I'd have called the kids earlier to say goodnight and then put the do not disturb sign on the door!
The grass was definitely not greener - maybe some of that manure is seeoing through. K [ September 05, 2002, 12:10 AM: Message edited by: God is in Control ]

Guess I am somewhat of a sap to for that sappy look b/c I think that means hope one day but I am almost done with it. That's why I give that to God and try and try to lay it at his feet each day relinquishing control to Him.
I have huuuge vent I am gonna post. It is horrible what I witnessed tonight and on behalf of non closure and all of us, I started some divorce busting for a woman I never even met... Read it.
Oh and I luv you guys. I am praying for you both daily. Mom of 4, what can he give EXCEPT COMPLIMENTS. And GIIC, I want to let you know that yep, monotony has set in. After being married to you for so long, like I said, he has realized this fantasy woman doesn't look too good without her hairdo and makeup. She may even get spells of gas and have morning breath. Plus, their sex thing should be settling down and also no excitement from the illicit affair thing to drive their desires. He will regret it. Sounds like he is feeling guilty already, at least when it comes to the children. I am praying for Him nevertheless. Only thing about that woman that will look good in the am is her wild toenails..

Peach....sorry you had a bad day. Our prayers will change his heart. We will persevere through this and not give up. I think it is funny that he thinks he needs to ride around with shirt off. Kind of an arrogant "Look how cool I am" attitude. He will snap out of it eventually.
You are in my prayers tonite.
Love in Christ cajunky

Read the vent - tacky tacky tacky people - what more can you say.
And it still brings a smile to my face whenever you mention those teonails -
Now that I think about it, she had to have them rofessionally done, I wish you could have seen them - and let's see - as far as I can tell, ExH and OW really don't spend any time together.
She is always at ExH's mom's riding center with or without her girls (Ex used to meet her there - I guess it's not as romantic to do anymore - he's nowt relegated to coming home and folding his son's clothes), or she is out at the beauty salon, or one time she left our kids with Ex at the ER while he was the only doctor on shift, to babysit the kids while she went SHOPPING! As far as I can tell OW is not doing ANYTHING that ExH blamed me for not doing as being the reason for his leaving.
He's whipped to put it bluntly, and he either doesn't know it or is too scared to do anything about it. He should have gotten a prenuptial agreement before the wedding and I think that because they married in Vegas, OW could stand to take even more than I will, if/when they ever get divorced.
Sucker!
