For anyone who wants to use those creative energies - yes, 3 year old son puts a Digimon trading card in the disk drive of our Clavinova - for those of you not familiar with one it's basically an electic piano with a disk drive.

So tomorrow I'll try the tweezers and see if I can't get it out.

Any other suggestions..... I wonder if he does things like this at ExHs house? Wouldn't it be refreshing if he did..........

Well, if it had been a Dragonball Z card you could have said "Ka me ha me HA!" and it would have popped out.

And, if it were a Pokemon card you could have kept your poke ball up high in your right hand and said "I choose you Picachu!" and then asked Pica if he would use thunder to shake it out.

Had it been a Yu-Gi-OH! card you could have done something with the magical monsters - but they might have crushed the piano if they got out of control.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" />

How about just trying some silly putty or gum on the end of a plastic knife or fireplace match?

GIIC,

Did you get it out?

You can get a new 3.5" drive at CompUsa for $20 -and a lot cheaper elsewhere. It might just be easier to replace the drive.

K,

I've pried things out of my computer's disk drive a few times.

Never actually caught the culprit, but I suspect YD! She and her slightly older sis actually grafittied "Mom" on the wall of our bathroom one time, figuring that if they my name instead of one of theirs, I wouldn't know who did it!

If your piano thing isn't too heavy, try turning it upside down. Give it a gentle shake or two and try to use a plastic butter knife or something else thin and flexible to push on the stuck object. Push down or up, depending on the position of the object, while pushing the eject button. It sounds more difficult that it is, but if you resist the temptation to take an axe to the thing, you should be able to get it out. Easy does it!

I wouldn't use putty or gum, since it could leave gooey stuff in your disk drive...yuck!

Also, be wary of using anything metal.

Believe it or not, mine still works just fine, no damage!

Good luck!

B.W.
