So, what does it mean that I spent most of the night going through statements to get an idea on property division and to prove pre-marital assets??? I am making an appointment with a lawyer tomorrow. I don't think that I even want my WH back if he asked. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get an idea on property division when there are many assets and investments with large tax losses to the person that keeps the assets? Are there any good computer programs to help?

If you are in a community property state, most likely you will have to make sure you can trace assets to a separate source and ask for reimnursement for this. I must add that the tracing will need to be clean and without question. Otherwise, community property is split
50/50.

In a 50/50 divison state, you might be out of luck.

It would be best to seek an attorney and present him with all evidence.
