My Attorney called my stbx Attorney and found out that my stbx is very serious about divorcing me. My Attorney is going to file the paperwork with my stbx Attorney and in turn, from what my Attorney said, they are going to file a counter claim. She said they have 20 days to answer so it might be a month before I hear anything.
Now comes the hard part!!!

Be strong. I am sorry to hear of the news. But remember, this is for your lawyer to handle. You can diffuse any anger from stbxw by saying, that is something I don't understand/have control of. I don't understand legal stuff so I leave it up to my lawyer. There is a link called "Tao of Divorce" and it really opened my eyes. If I can find it, I will try to add it here.
You need to gear up. It will not be easy. I know you want your family intact. I do too. We all do. You are just doing what is self preservation and in the Bible there are certain situations where a D is understood. God doesn't expect us to live and be miserable forever when our spouse turns their backs on their families and their God. Just do as I do. Treat it as a b usiness venture and try to take your emotions out of it. Can't believe I am saying this b/c each time I've se en my attorney she must think I am the biggest baby b/c I usually break down into tears.
