Remember back when I was desparate for a job.

Remember how I finally got one - after nearly a year of looking. So, now I'm doing the same thing I did 20 years ago and earning what I earned 10 years ago.

Well, tomorrow I have another interview. Don't know that I want the job. But I don't turn down interviews. You never know when you might learn something. When you might get an offer you can't turn down.

This would be 10% more money. It would be a car note! And I drive an 16 year old Oldsmobile that needs more work than the car is worth.

But, I would be director of personnel for a prison.

So, everyone who wishes can send prayers or best wishes or whatever for tomorrow. 10:30 a.m. CDT

I don't expect an offer. I just want to do well and gain postitive experience.

Thanks!

Prayers coming your way.

Doesn't sound like an easy job, but you'd be an asset anywhere you worked!

Good luck. K

Here's the scoop. I got a one hour tour of the facility - a prison hospital/mental health facility. Mine is one of only 5 states with a fully accredited Dept of Correction.

The job pays 4350/month more than I am making now. While it is more responsibility than I feel ready for, I would entertain the offer if I got one. Don't anticipate it though.

I have learned that the hiring decision is someone else's and I can't fortell what they will do. Therefore, my only goal is to do my best in the interview and to learn something. Frankly, it was the best job interview I've had in a while.

I do know that the dir of personnel for the agency - not the facility - gave the candidate before me all "excellent" ratings on a checklist they were using. I got at least one score that was not 'excellent' but was only one category down. they were interviewing three people that day and I expect they are interviewing a total of about 10 people.

The warden wants to interview only the top three candidates and they want to make a decision on Friday.

I did do one thing well that the candidate before me didn't do and that is....I followed the directions in the interview letter and brought a completed copy of my application.

And I do have the advantage of having some contacts in another state agency with which I would probably have a lot of contact.

I did ok. That's all I could ask and all I wanted.

Thanks for the prayers and fairy dust

Hey, I could eat lunch free every day - behind the walls. The employees said it was pretty good food - same stuff the prisoners get. How many people do you know who have been in a maximum security area of a prison for people with mental health problems or other health problems?
