I know someone who has been working for six long years while her husband stayed at home and watched the kids. He never really gave tried to enter the work force, because all he ever wanted to be was a cop. Now her job might be in jeapardy, so he is forcing her to move to Florida where he is trying to get a job as a cop. However, Florida is several thousand miles away from where they live now.
This wife is very close to her mother, and her mother woudl get sick if she left. She doesn't want to leave either, but her husband is saying either go with me, or I'm going.
He is forcing her to go when she doesn't want to. He is calling it a wake up call. I think it was a wake up call he missed long ago when he ddin't look for the job.
What should this woman do? I feel very bad for her. Here she was working all these years and now he wants her to move? I don't think so.

Why are you speaking on her behalf?

It would be far more effective to have her come to MB to state her problem and get advice DIRECTLY instead of thru a third party (YOU).

Why have posted this in the Divorcing/Divorce board? Is she in the process of divorcing her H because of this?

If she isn't then you need to post this in the Emotional Needs board where these kinds of issues between people who are still married, tend to be discussed.

I would suggest that you print all the materiel on this website and give it to your female friend to read in order for her to effectively deal with this situation.
