I have been dealing with a spouse who is a sexual addict for 6 years. We have been married for 10 years and I found out about this after 4 years. We have 2 children, ages 15 & 14 from my previous marriage which he has adopted. They are aware of some of the problems but not all. I want to make this marriage work but things go well for a time and then seem to fall apart again. I don't like his use of pornography but could deal with it a little if he would keep it out of the house and away from the kids. He seems to be unable to do this and it terrifies the kids that one of their friends will find out. Is there anyone dealing with this on any level and if so how do you do it? How do I deal with this or do I just forget it and move on? Help!!!!! I am about to my crumbling point and I will listen to any opinions.
------------------
Lucy Mae
[This message has been edited by Lucy Mae (edited September 18, 2000).]

I am the xw of a man who was sexually anorexic. I spent 18 months going to S-Anon meetings. It was wonderful for me. Through S-Anon I came to view what happened in my marriage differently. This is a 12-step group for the coaddicts of sexaholics just as Al-Anon is for the coaddicts of alcoholics.
For more information about S-Anon, you can call their national office at 615-833-3152. For information about SA, call 615-331-6230.
The structure of these meetings is that they are anonymous family groups. There are no last names. All people in attendance have a family member or close friend with a sexual addiction which is affecting their relationships.
It was wonderful for me. It may not be for everyone. It is recommended that you attend six meetings before you decide whether or not this is for you. The principle thing that occurs is that participants have the opportunity to share their experience, hope, and courage.
May God bless you.

I haved checked into this and there are no chapters in my area. Closest is 3 hours away. My husband periodically attends SA for himself but thinks his problems are mild in comparison to his. Thanks for the encouragement though.

[This message has been edited by Lucy Mae (edited September 18, 2000).]
