Skating at the Rockefeller Skating Rink and then lunch at Carmin's!!! Wow, what a great suggestion. You are a riot. I don't know if I have the guts to put on my skates.... Maybe others would !! Any takers??

LI,
Sat the 28th sounds good to me - where ever you decide is fine - it's been years since I've been in NYC.
Broken x 3 - Maybe we could meet & go into the city together ??? (Or anyone else comming from NJ)

If the get-together is on Saturday, 28 December, in NYC, then I am pretty darn sure I can be there.

I've skated Rockefeller Center before! It was night too, very pretty. I held on for dear life and white knuckled my way around the rink....hmm...does that count as skating?

OK folks. It looks like we are firming up for Dec 28 (Saturday) for the MB get-together in NYC. Kily and Not my will,... great to have you both join in. So now we have the following confirmed: WGTT, Broken x 3, Shepette, Catamount, Kily and Not my Will,.. Did I miss anyone? I hope not. If I did, please correct me. Today, I called Carmine's to reserve a table for 8 at 11:30 AM. They are NOT taking reservations. Said it will be on a first come first serve basis. Doors open for lunch at 11:00 AM and they expect that at worst the wait may be 1 hour. So we could wait in the bar or we could try a different place (there are sooo many in NYC). An alternative suggestion in lieu of Carmine's might be Tavern on the Green. The views are great, but it's a little pricier than Carmine's (you can view their web site: www.tavernonthegreen.com). Soo, I need some feedback from you folks or alternative suggestions if you don't like the above. It's getting really, really, exciting. We have more folks joining in the get-together: Let's all lighten up have some fun. What other place to do that than in New York.....

Well...I have those days off from work...don't know about logistics and hubby's schedulel yet though.
So IF I can come - I vote Carmines - oh my gosh the food is fantastic and there is UNGODLY amounts of it - tavern on the green is over-rated

I vote for Carmine's - what if we set the time at 11 am for when they open?? Even if we have to wait, we can still have fun

NMWBTW, (was that the right initials?)

I thought you lived in the Northwest ? Was I mistaken or are you visiting the area like me?

I think I can come on the 28th. My travel plans are delayed until spring.
Having my bro and neice here last weekend was a psychological shot in the arm.
I will probably need to get away in spring after S%$& hits fan with H receiving paperwork soon.

WGTT I live not too far from NJ turnpike entrance. you could pick me up at my house, meet where I work (right by Deptford mall) or meet right by turnpike entrance.
I was kinda toying with the idea of spending Fri nite in NYC...My D is in love with the city and I thought I could incorporate it into Christmas present. She desperately wants to skate at rockefeller center and weve never seen the rockettes show, but I probably wont be able to afford it. know any cheap hotels??????????

sunrise,
My D also wants to go to NYC. She wants to go to school there. I think our D's are about the same age.
My neice goes to school in NYC,so maybe she knows of some places or even her place ? Not sure of that as my SIL is very particular about everything.

Sunrise1: If you plan on spending a night with your D in NYC, you might wish to try out a couple of websites that are usually pretty good. www.hotels.comwww.cheaprooms.comI wish you luck, but do book early as reasonably priced rooms in NYC around the holidays are hard to come by. And try and stay in the mid-town (West) area. Mid-town (East) tends to be pricier. It will be fun for you and your D, as all the fabulous stores are within walking distance. Good luck with hotelhunting. Post back if you need help from some of us.
