WGTT, I plan on driving out on 80, I'll find a place to crash for the evening and then need a time and directions to catch up with you in the morning. Email me if you get a chance and we can firm things up as the time gets closer. Also, I need to know how we plan to get into the city for budget purposes, etc. Gosh, I hope this works out. I'm really looking forward to meeting as many people as possible! It's one of the highlights of my holidays!

broken,

I have to do some research myself - LI listed his email address if anyone had any questions so that is what I plan on doing. My initial thoughts are to park at the Port Authority with both or one car. That way if we wanted to leave at different times then we could do that. I think the parking there was $18 ???? They have a website with all the info.

If anyone else has any other ideas - let us know!

I have sooooo much to do before we go - kids are so excited about the possibility of seeing snow & we don't even have winter coats! BRRRRRRR I havn't lived up North in 21 years!!!!

Hi Folks:

Was away from this board for a few days and am back now to see lots of activity on this thread.

NSR (Jim): glad to have you join us on the 28th.

WGTT: Thanks for keeping this thread alive. You're an angel. If you need to discuss further about driving directions, etc., please feel free to E-mail me. Hope all is well with you and with your plans. Your D will have a great time in NYC.

Broken & Sunrise: It's great to know that your plans are finalized for the meeting in NYC. Good news. The Wellington Hotel is at a great location. Short distance to all major holiday attractions in mid-town Manhattan. Good choice.

Shepette, Kily, Newly, NotMyWill.., Catamount: Hope you folks are all set for the get-together!

BrambleRose: Hope you can make it. I know you are a "maybe", but if you can it would be good.

I will revert shorty with a summary of the headcount for our get-together. "Tis starting to feel like the season...." tra la la la la,....".

LI,

I'm still on....maybe it would be a good idea to start a new thread about the get together that isn't all clogged up and that sums up the specifics of where and when.

See ya all!

Hi MBers:

Merry Christmas to all!

As I looked out the window this wondrous Christmas morning there was a thin blanket of snow outside and snowflakes were gently falling down. It’s a white Christmas! We’ve not had a white Christmas in a long time so today is delightfully wondrous. It is now snowing hard and we should have several inches of the white carpet before its all over tonight. So I hope each of you on this Board take time out today to have a special moment for yourself, whether you have family and loved ones with you (which is great) or even if you are alone (which is always difficult at this time of the year). God bless you all on this wondrous Christmas day.

I will check up on the thread and confirm details of our NYC get-together, along with head-count, etc. tomorrow.

Merry Christmas again to all.

I am emailing you for additional information.

broken
I will email you with info after I get it from LI along with my cell phone #

NSR
Thanks to the link to Carmine's. I printed it out & left it on the kitchen counter. Several in my family said "OOOOOHHH, CARMINES, WHO IS GOING? THAT PLACE IS GREAT !!"

My kids are so excited it snowed! We were out for hours last night, all the cousins, Aunts, Uncles, etc. I got a new digital camera for Christmas & took action shots then loaded them on the laptop. It was soooo cool, great action shots and fun to review the day.

God Bless,
D.

Hi folks:

Here's the final summary for our get-together in New York City tomorrow:

1. Confirmed Attending:

Will Get Thru This
Broken x 3
Sunrise
Shepette
Kily
Newly
NotMyWill..
Catamount82
NSR (Jim)

2. Unconfirmed
BrambleRose

3. Time and Place of meeting:

Carmine's restaurant in the theater district of New York City. Meeting time: 11:00 AM approx on Saturday December 28, 2002.

Address is: 200 West 44th Street (between Broadway and 8th Ave); Phone: 212-221-3800.
Web site address: carminesnyc.com
(Please also see NSR-Jim's post on December 25, with useful information, map of NYC, etc that may be helpful in reaching Carmine's).

We have no reservations at Carmine's. They were full up. But the folks at Carmine suggested that if we arrive when the door opens for lunch (at 11:00 AM) and wait at the bar, it will take no more than an hour to seat us. So I suggest that we meet at the bar. How about the first person who gets to the restaurant tell the bar person that we are a group of 10 under the name of "Steve Harley" (ha, ha , ha). Thought it would be appropriate. And yes, as Jim suggests maybe we should wear something identifiable. Any thoughts, suggestions from all you folks?

I will not be able to arrive at Carmine's till about 11:30 AM. So I guess I'll just ask for the Steve Harley table and I may be escorted to you folks. I'll be taking the train from Connecticut to Manhattan. See you all there.

Oh, oh. I suggest that each of us come to the MB get-together with: (a) a joke or (b) an interesting anecdote (fact or fiction) to share with the rest of us. And let us all have a great time. If anyone has other suggestions, please share with us here. As Dr. Phil said, "your best revenge is to live well...".

So long and look forward to metting you all and having a great time.

PS: WGTT: I ahve sent you a separate E-mail.

I was considering driving into the city. If I took the train, I'd be coming from the Milford station.

Hi Kily:

Just read your post. I had my train schedule mixed up. I plan to drive down to Stamford station park my car there and take the train to Grand Central. Looks like the best train for me would be the 9:53 AM from Stamford. If you take the same train it leaves Milford at 9:09 AM; we could meet up on the train in Stamford. Please let me know if I can assist you in any way.

See you tomorrow.
