I have been married for almost 3 yrs and have a 4mo old daughter. My husband quit his job 1 week before we married and hasn't worked since. I try to discuss this with him and he refuses. He has a college degree and is very capable of work. I work 5 days a wk, take care of the baby and house, and go to bed exhausted. I am becoming so bitter toward him because of his unwillingness to try counselling or professional help to save our marriage. In financial woes, need help.

oceana,
If he won't go to work could you work out something with him where he takes care of the baby and household responsibilities while you are at work. When you get home you could have time with your daughter and not worry about doing any chores. It seems that now a days there are many men in this reversal of roles. Is your salary such that this would work? Also has he considered working from home?
cleo

Why should he do the housework when you always end up taking care of it yourself? You get what you tolerate.
1. You married a voluntarily unemployed man rather than postponing the wedding in shock at his gall.
2. You got pregnant by a voluntarily unemployed man, and stayed with him.
3. You work your tail off seven days a week to make a comfortable life for your (voluntarily unemployed) husband.
4. Sounds like he has it made in the shade! Why mess up a good deal like that? What job would match the easygoing lifestyle you have given him?
Putting up with your nagging/anger/whatever is a small price to pay for the payoff he feels he gets under this system.

[This message has been edited by Karenna (edited October 08, 2000).]
