I'm in the process of leaving my H. It's been a tough road, but this is definitely the right course to take now. I'm actually looking forward to it. (really, I am! ).
This is rather new territory for me. And I'm hoping that some of you could give me some suggestions on what I need to take care of. My plans are to get a D. I"m done. The love is gone, the bank account empty.
So far, we're still in the same house. I have gotten all of the utilities out of my name, and into H's now (and what a pain THAT was! ), but it's all done. I have informed our landlord that I will be moving, and contacted the "ontario rental housing tribunal" to find out if there's anything else I need to do, seeing that H is staying here. I don't even need to give notice according to them.
I have talked to H about visitation, and figure that the best way is to do the "one weeknight and every other weekend" thing, and H agrees. As far as the child support, I plan on going through the FRO (family responsibility office) so that he pays them, then they pay me. I don't want to have contact if I don't have to (part of my own healing needs). The actual amounts have yet to be decided upon. I need to check out the info online still, and/or make a few phone calls.
We have no assets. We don't have any shared bank accounts. The only "property" we own are the two cemetary plots next to Andrew. And to be quite honest, I do NOT want to deal with that right now. I"m not ready. (our 'deal' as a married couple, was that whoever dies first, lies next to Andrew).
What else should I be doing? Opinions would be greatly welcomed.
Thanks!

Looks okay. Keep notes so you have something to go by.
One thing about your signature..
"4 boys (born May'99, 2 x Feb'01, and Oct'96 to Sept'00)"
You had one in May 99, twins in Feb 01 and the last one was born from Oct 96 thru Sept 00?!?!?!

okay Chris... I see your point.
I've changed my sig. line slightly. Does that make more sense? (I've been attempting to cut down on the # of lines being used - I hope to cut it REAL short soon! ).

I'd refer to some local divorce books. Check your library or the internet for books to purchase. It sounds like you might be able to do this yourself, but it depends on your location - canada I presume? I think you'll find more specific info. in books than on this site. Good Luck.
