Hi
I was talking to a friend and he told me that your ex can only try to get the child support increased every 3 years. Is this true? Thanks for your help.

I am not sure of that. I was told, that in order to get child support increased, you have to go through the courts. Which costs $$$$ and getting a lawyer. This is the sum which you will receive for the rest of the childs years until he/she is 18 or finishes high school. Unfair, yep, reality, yep!

Depending on the state you are in. In California, it is every 6 months. And family court will handle child support cases without attorneys which makes it costless and effortless for spouses. The same can go both ways though. If you find that you want it amended or reviewed, you have the same rights.
