My husband and I of 19 years are divorcing and it will be final on Jan. 13th. I think my login name says it all. We had a rocky marriage over the last 19 years due to me having two affairs, one after 5 years and another after 10 years. After the second one we went to a marriage councelor for two years. We were doing great for the five years after that, then suddenly he became cold and distant. We stayed together for an additional two years, without sex, basicly roommates.
I asked him over and over to go back to counceling, but he refused stating that it will not help at this point in his life.
He stated that going the first time was just a cover up and he really never forgave me from the last one and his heart was too broken to be mended.
I have since moved out, bought my own house and tried to move on with my life, but I just cannot seem to move on. I have tried to date other men, but I always compare them to what I have known for the last twenty years and miss so much.
I have just found out last week that he is dating someone, and I have this feeling that I want to confront her and tell her my position of wanting to get our marriage and family back together, but he tells me not to contact her.
I have tried to tell him that we can work this out and become a family again, but he thinks that we need the space and who knows what the future will hold.
My family was everything to me once I received the counceling and work out the issues I had from my past. I want to get my husband and family back, but the divorce is final in less than two weeks and he will have no part in stopping it.
The holidays were very rough for me this year. It has always been in the past a wonderful time as a family.
Is he giving me false hope, by saying who knows what the future will hold, or is he just trying to get to the 13th and all will be final???
