Well guys here is an update that the kids and I prayed about a week ago. The kids and I were going to eat pizza and go bowling. This was a favorite family activity before so I asked my wife (Prior to the break-up) to go with us. Friday when I picked the kids up I told her the invitation was still open. I told her we were going to eat at 7:00. Welllllll tonite at 6:30 when we were about to walk out the door she called my sons cell phone and asked what we were doing and he told her we were about to leave. She said she had decided to go and would meet us there. Needless to say me and the kids were jumping for joy. On the way there I was crying and my daughter saw me and I told her she hasn't seen me cry for joy in a long time and she just smiled and kissed me.
We had as good a time as possible. My wife was up tight which was to be expected. There was a little conversation between me and wife but it was awkward. We were giving each other high fives during bowling and had a pretty good time. It was just awkward because we haven't really talked or done anything together in about 8 months. We will just have to build it from the ground up.
I have a confession I have to tell though and I know I am going to get a kick in the pants by all of you. My wife has told me not to go in her room at her apartment(Her computer is in there). Friday when I picked up the kids I went and looked on the history to see if she had been to marriage builders. She had, which pleased me a whole lot, but in looking I violated her trust. I have to earn back her trust in every avenue of our lives. She told me tonite she knew I had done it and I told her I was sorry and that is not the way to earn her trust and I would earn it back a little at a time.
I know what you guys said that I need to be patient and let her love work from the inside out. Earning her trust is the first step in liting the fire back and I am determined to do that.
I will have to say my wife looked as beautiful as ever and I can honestly say I LOVE her with all my heart.
Keep praying for us as my wife made a brave new step tonite and I thank God for it all.

cajunky, you and your wife are in my prayers. I think your wife is a lucky woman. I would have given anything if my WH had turned his life around as you have. Thanks for your inspirational example.

Cajunky,
When we get better, it is usually not in a straight line upwards. We make forward steps and we slide back. This will happen to both of you. You did what you did & I have to say that I would probably have done the same thing, but at this point you CAN NOT change it. The best you can do is what you did, admit it, ask for forgiveness and then move forward.
I am so happy for you and your family. God is good. You have made me think about my "stand" in my marriage. It's the part where I believe in God, I have faith in God but do I TRUST GOD? The way I see it God COULD restore my M, but do I really believe that HE WOULD restore my M? I believe that I have heard from God to let go, that the only way he (WH) will get it is if I do file for DV. I then read in a post by FREE that God had indicated the same thing for her, but then she got ahead of God. I posted a question to her last night about that. I may be there.
C, I didn't mean to hijack your thread, just had to write this as it spilled out of my mind so I didn't forget it!!!
God Bless, D.

cajunk,
This is AWESOME!!! Nothing new to add, just wanted to send my PRAISES to our Lord along with everyone else's.
Just keep doing what you are doing (as well as NOT doing what you shouldn't be doing) , and trusting GOD ALL THE WAY!!!
YOU KNOW what His will is..........so just RELAX and enjoy watching Him bring His plans to fullness.
God Bless,

Keep up the good work. Remember, recovery is hard. You're not in recovery yet, but you are beginning a long walk toward that path.
Giving her room to breathe is important. Very important.
I applaud you and am praying for you guys. You're doing it. Slowly and steadily is the ticket.
You can't force or rush her.
Just really wish my stbx had done one ounce of repentance. He's getting alot worse
