My mediation is coming up on Monday and I am very afraid.
I don't want to lose my son to his father. What upsets me is how clinging my son is to his father. Is this a phase that they go through at this age (17 months) or am I in trouble? He shows me that he loves me but he is always running to daddy.
Am I being paranoid?

Hi Baby Tell us more about your situation why are you going through mediation? The fact that your child is clinging to his dad shouldn't bother you thats his dad and he loves him that shouldn't upset you. If there is a divorce pending the child should go to the parent that could provide him with the best situation. These decisions are hard on the adults but we can not lose sight of whats best for the child. Good luck

Do you have a fax number? If so, I can fax the table I mentioned from the book Sandcastles tomorrow. In mediation, be reasonable. Don't demand full custody, particularly if he was a good father. Young children need their primary caretaker (I'm trying to be PC here), and meditors know that. The OLD standard was one night per week, and everyother weekend for fathers, depending on age. But this doesn't hold so much anymore. Create a few scenarios you can live with, and have them ready to show the mediator. I have Excel Spreadsheets I can forward to you if you provide your e-mail address. Take Care. Just keep reading the materials on mediation you were given in advance, this should prepare you for this.
