Today was my x's trial for breaking the no contact order.....3 charged violations, 2 not charged (yet), and 8 not officially reported. He chose to represent himself. I was a witness for the county attorney....

His defense was a.) he didn't realize he was breaking the no contact order and b.) there shouldn't be a no contact order and i'm being mean by throwing him in jail, denying him visits with his children, and reporting the violations. Even the judge was rolling her eyes.

I thought it was particularily nasty when he presented the Christmas letter I had sent his brothers, telling them I was sorry the divorce had to happen but I hoped they would stay in touch with the children. He saw that as me breaking the no contact order and trying to get involved with him again.

Since he represented himself, he got to cross examine me. His first question: "Have I EVER since the NCO was in place caused you physical harm or mental anguish?" Um, no.....I love it when you harass me......sheesh! It went downhill from there as he tried to tell the judge that he was afraid of me, I'd threatened him, then cried and carried on.......where's Court TV when you need them? Jerry Springer anyone?

Anyway, it's over, the judge will make her decision....possibly 21 days in jail!....and hopefully he'll call his lawyer and attempt to see the children thru supervised visits like he's supposed to. May I have my life back now?

oh, one more thing.....he was driving a brand new 2002 pickup.....yet he's on unemployment and can't pay full child support.....anyone else think that's fishy? Even when he was employed, he made $1400/mo and the mortgage/utilities is $692, child support is $626....and he must live on something.....

How did you hold up through your ex questioning you? I don't even know what to say other than, "you poor thing!"

I hope you are in a nice hot tub with candles all around and trying to relax now after all that.

I hope the judge throws the book at him.

Anna, I followed your advice and prayed beforehand, God gave me incredible calm while I answered his questions.....which didn't even pertain to the allegations against him. He was "legally" harassing me. I know the judge saw right through him though.

I'd sit in the hot tub, but it's upstairs by the childrens rooms and they wouldn't leave me alone.....maybe tomorrow afternoon before they come home from school. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />
